The French/Egyptian artist continues to be one of electronic music's most talented producers, where his fresh take on melodic house has earned support from the genre's premiere tastemakers. With releases on Crossings, Bad Pony, Flora, Balkan Connection and Songspire highlighting his discography, AMPISH now returns to his comfortable home of Sidra with 'The Uncertainty Principle'. Having been a favorite of world class DJ Solomun for many months, it is the much in demand title track that leads the EP off. Anchored by a tight punchy groove, it's rhythmic core comes up quickly, with layers of electric lines, ethereal shades and vibrant tones. Fragmented metallics then steal the air amidst waves of noise and percussive flurries, before a timely break pushes tension and anticipation higher into a groovy finale. The EP's midway point finds AMPISH exploring an esoteric narrative with 'Riff'. It's wonky lead is monumentally funky perfectly sculpted and characterized by contemporary design. Buoyant and crisp, it provides the perfect narrative for waves of percussion, rippling grooves and pensive arps to elevate mood across the six minute journey. Rounding out the release are the deeper vibes of 'Nocturne'. Known for splitting time between creative spaces, AMPISH's boundless creativity fuels this emotive gem.
