An Argentinean duo with over a decade's experience in the Progressive House scene, Jose Duque and Bruno Signorelli have seen their music feature on such esteemed imprints as Higher States, Mango Alley and Balkan Connection, with their Abity production moniker. Debuting on Particles with their Beyond EP, Horizons is a delicate rhythmic gem that trips along with woodblock percussion and deep kick. Reverb-drenched vocal washes and flowing motifs add melodic character as a rich bass groove adds weight and dancefloor appeal post-breakdown. Move continues the bassline cadence as light melodies shimmer across the mid-range. Counterpoint phrases add further charm as white-noise passages filter across the stripped back mid-point. Full of hypnotic poise, it is the perfect pause before the powerful Beyond makes its presence felt with rippling arpeggio and emotive piano sequence. A trademark bassline adds force and weight as a spine-tingling melodic progression is carried along by a strong beat and rolling percussive groove before a searing synth lead makes a play in the third movement. A high-profile artist with releases on the likes of All Day I Dream, Vapour Recordings, and Hoomidaas, Mass Digital is an established producer with well over 500 production credits to his name. Making his debut in mid-2010, the Serbian star now makes his first appearance on Particles with a gorgeous reworking of Beyond. Familiar melodic lines weave their way through the 7-minute piece while an effortlessly rolling percussive groove meanders across the top line. Stunning new piano sequences and synth phrasing emerge from the Mass Digital production repertoire as the remix blossoms in shimmering new directions post-breakdown whilst remaining firmly rooted in Abity's original sound. Veterans of the underground house scene, Blood Groove and Kikis are well known to the Particles faithful with a series of remixes dating back to 2015 and a reworking of GMJ's Silent Love. Interpretations of Nikko.Z, Andre Sobota and East Caf have all since followed as the Latvian duo now return with a second remix of 2021. Taking a typically mellifluous approach to their music, Blood Groove and Kikis have developed Move into a smooth flowing track that shifts easily within the themes laid out by Abity. Anchored by heavy beat and ticking percussive groove, subtle guitar riffs and string phrasings complement each other in unhindered fashion before delicate organic house elements weave a magical path post-breakdown. The final remixer is a Proton Music regular who has also found his work featured for such blue-chip imprints as Hoomidaas, Where The Heart Is, Harabe and his own Truesounds Music. Peter Makto's Purple Rain EP with Gregory S was a Proton highlight in September 2018 as the Hungarian producer now debuts on Particles with a typically innovative reworking of Horizons that strips away the melodic layers to reveal a newly cadenced arpeggio that flourishes amongst deep kick and ticking hi-hats. An emerging synth line adds to the collage as elements from Abity's original filter into the breakdown. The second half continues the rhythmic arp and complementary phrasing of earlier movements in an impressive Peter Makto remix.
