A man of at the forefront of the British dance scene, Ad Brown has overseen a career of stellar proportions working with some of the finest artists and labels and playing in the world's biggest clubs. Now returning to Particles with Calibre, we are proud to feature an accompanying remix from a new UK talent. With a unique sound to call his own, Ad Brown's experience within the underground and mainstream dance arenas is second to none. A man who has toured the world visiting countries including Indonesia, Russia and Europe at clubs such as London's Ministry of Sound and Shangha's M1NT, his supporting role to the industry's biggest names including Calvin Harris and Paul Oakenfold has not gone unnoticed. A production career that has developed since early work for Frisl in 2008 has gone on to see him feature on some of the finest imprints including Silk Music, Enormous Tunes and almost a century of credits for Black Hole. A number of sample packs for Freshly Squeezed Samples highlighted another string to the Ad Brown bow as he helped to bring a new breed of dance producers into the limelight. Featuring on Particles with Embliss through the Oreon EP and Impossible is Nothing with Andrew Benson, Ad Brown's return with Calibre demonstrates a man with inimitable talents. A chunky bass groove with huge dominant kick drum plays a fundamental role as a light glockenspiel riff cascades gently across the upper frequencies in delayed earworm glory. An additional bass layer adds further rich texture as the track evolves and clever use of rise and fall within six-minute work creates a piece full of skill and musical knowledge. Austrian based artist, Dan Baseley, has celebrated an impressive 2015 through his Orsen production moniker. A man with a studious, considered approach to his craft, the use of field recordings and sound design are integral components of his impressive work that have helped him stamp individuality on his productions. A debut for Optimized Recordings in 2014 was soon followed by the elegant Look Twice EP for Cid Inc.'s Replug, before a further triptych for Particles in the shape of the sumptuous Elysium found itself featuring on both the Evocative and Visceral compilations series. A remix of Biologik in September 2015 is now followed by a second Particles remix that delights with its flowing percussive groove and delightful melodic phrasing that pay tribute to Ad Brown's original in skilful manner while adding a dynamic layer of intrigue. Subtle side-chain pumping gives space for the various components to breathe and come together as a homogeneous whole in a sublime rework.
