He is terribly ambitious for his cause, but personally humble. His ad-hoc style allows him to entertain his crowd, while listening to them, and educating them when he feels like pushing them. This did not come easy. His smooth and evolutionary-growing career tells the story. Ali arrived in Orlando, from Lebanon, in 1995 to pursue his education. Lebanon was then a country torn from a 20-year war. Too many of Lebanon's youth, it was about struggle, sacrifice, and change. These are all elements that make up the DNA of Ali's character as a person and a Dj. Orlando was then a burgeoning dance hub heavily influenced by the British styles of Sasha and John Digweed. It was a city that was breeding talents such as Kimball Collins, Chris Fortier, and Jimmy Van M, and legendary clubs such as Firestone and Simons. Ali was hooked. He decided to move to Montreal to further his education and launch his djing career. There, he started with a group of friends Liquid State of Mind (LSM), an event production and promotions company. His goal was to bring to Montreal the kind of memorable nights he saw in Orlando. After a few successful events, he landed his first residency at High Bar. The night was called "Chrome", inspired by John Debo's infamous Boston night and Debo was invited for the opening night. Chrome Montreal set the stage for the progressive sound and Ali's dj career was beginning to gain ground. It was the perfect opportunity for Ali to take another step forward. In September of 1999, Ali made the move to Boston and joined Debo at Chrome. Naji Farhat, co-owner of Sporadic Groove Records, saw the rare talent in Ali and asked to manage his career. Ali's apparent abilities extended beyond Djing and by early 2000, he found himself heading A&R for Sporadic Groove. His efforts led to signing groundbreaking artists such as Tone Depth further catapulting Sporadic Groove to the league of innovative and respected independent labels. Ali got another break in the summer of 2000, when he secured another residency at Avalon Fridays, a night that has gained international recognition and respect for its quality production in music and entertainment. Both residencies provided him with the opportunity to play alongside some of the biggest international acts such as John Digweed, Deep Dish, Paul Van Dyk, and Carl Cox to name a few. As a result, Ali's musical maturity began to thrive as he secured his position amongst the top talent in the industry. Adding to his hectic schedule, Ali is the progressive house music buyer for Boston Beat Records and serves as an A&R consultant to Chug Recordings and Opek Music, launched by LSM Productions in Montreal. These projects and opportunities have allowed him to push the sounds and talents that he supports, and feels are the future of the music. Ali's sounds take the lines between dark progressive, tech house, twisted vocals, and chugging grooves, and blur them all together. His quaint style is so devoid of nonsense, heavily influenced and inspired by Djs such John Digweed, Deep Dish, John Debo, Max Graham, and Dj Genie.s For Ali, what is constant is adaptation while preserving his core strength.
