The top-ten ║ │ │║ hit single, "Poison" is the only track worth ║ │ │║ mentioning while the remaining tracks are so ║ │ │║ poorly written that you can understand why the ║ │ │║ album is called "Trash". Ok, perhaps that's a ║ │ │║ bit harsh BUT this is certainly Alice at his ║ │ │║ worst.s ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ MUSICIANS: ║ │ │║ Far too many to list. Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, ║ │ │║ Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, Richie Sambora, Kip ║ │ │║ Winger - to name a few. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ INTERESTING FACTS: ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ 1. The working title for "Trash" was "Low Class ║ │ │║ Reunion". ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ 2. "Trash" was released in July of 1989 and ║ │ │║ peaked at #20. It would eventually be certified ║ │ │║ Platinum in May of 1990. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ 3. The single "Poison" charted at #7 and would ║ │ │║ be certified Gold. The single would mark his ║ │ │║ first US chart single in nine years! ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ I know it might sound crazy, but I really feel ║ │ │║ that this is ALICE COOPER'S best work. I love ║ │ │║ Alice, and all of his work, but this album is so ║ │ │║ entertaningly cheesy and experimental that it ║ │ │║ just bowled me over when I finally got it a ║ │ │║ couple of months ago. The idea of production by ║ │ │║ Desmond Child (Bon Jovi), made me wary of what ║ │ │║ he'd make Alice sound like, but what he's ║ │ │║ managed to do is add the same hooky sing-along ║ │ │║ sensability that he did for Bon Jovi and ║ │ │║ Aerosmith. I know that might sound a little ║ │ │║ wrong for Alice Cooper, but give this album a ║ │ │║ chance. The big hit, "Poison", is a great, campy ║ │ │║ rocker, and virtually the entire album is ║ │ │║ wall-to-wall hooks galore. This album basically ║ │ │║ reflects Alice Cooper moving to a style ║ │ │║ somewhere between Motley Crue and Bon Jovi. The ║ │ │║ songs: "Bed of Nails", "Only my Heart Talking", ║ │ │║ "Hell is living without you" (a song co-written ║ │ │║ and backed by Bon Jovi), and "House of Fire" are ║ │ │║ all amazingly catchy, goofy songs. This album is ║ │ │║ pure trash (like the title), but trash that is ║ │ │║ supremely fun and entertaining. As great as all ║ │ │║ his early stuff is, this is the kind of album ║ │ │║ that, wall-to-wall, features songs that you will ║ │ │║ not be able to get out of your head after you ║ │ │║ listen to them. Trust me. This one may be more ║ │ │║ for 80's rock fans than ALICE COOPER purists, ║ │ │║ but anyone with an open mind will find a ║ │ │║ astoundingly catchy and fun album if they're ║ │ │║ willing to listen to it. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ Say what you will about Alice Cooper, but his ║ │ │║ music is a reflection of the times. You have the ║ │ │║ straight ahead 70's rockers of "Love it to ║ │ │║ Death" through "Muscle of Love" and his solo ║ │ │║ projects covered disco with "Goes to Hell", 80's ║ │ │║ synth/new wave with "Flush the Fashion" and ║ │ │║ "Special Forces", to the Nu-Metal sounds of ║ │ │║ "Brutal Planet" & "Dragontown". In the 80's ║ │ │║ Alice tackled the Hair Metal scene with ║ │ │║ "Constrictor", "Raise Your Fist and Yell" and ║ │ │║ his most popular album of the decade "Trash". ║ │ │║ Now as an Alice fan, I don't really care for ║ │ │║ "Trash", mainly because it doesn't sound like ║ │ │║ Alice Cooper. The songwriting, the guest stars ║ │ │║ like Joan Jett, Bon Jovi, the "pop" production ║ │ │║ by Desmond Child. "Poison" is a great song, no ║ │ │║ doubt about it, and really the only Cooperesque ║ │ │║ track on "Trash". "House of Fire" sounds like a ║ │ │║ Joan Jett song, and would have worked on a Joan ║ │ │║ Jett album, but not for Cooper. "Spark in the ║ │ │║ Dark", "This Maniac's in Love with You", "Hell ║ │ │║ is Living Without You", "Trash" & "Bed of Nails" ║ │ │║ are all okay songs, which would have fit ║ │ │║ perfectly on a Bon Jovi record, but Alice ║ │ │║ singing about lost love/being in love/finding ║ │ │║ love just don't seem to fit with Cooper's image. ║ │ │║ Now I can appreciate what Alice was trying to do ║ │ │║ here, but "Trash" does not hold up compared to ║ │ │║ his other music. You can put in "Killers" or ║ │ │║ "From the Inside" and the music still sounds ║ │ │║ fresh and original. "Trash" just sounds like so ║ │ │║ many other hair bands from the late 80's, and I ║ │ │║ think that's because too many of the ║ │ │║ then-popular stars of the era had too big a hand ║ │ │║ in creating the album. Still, I see some of the ║ │ │║ used copies here under $5, and "Poison" alone is ║ │ │║ worth that. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ This album was Alice Cooper's comeback, and boy ║ │ │║ did he comeback in a big way. This album is ║ │ │║ fully of hard rocking 80s hairiness. Songs like ║ │ │║ Poison and House of Fire will make him new fans ║ │ │║ and bring back many who had just about given up ║ │ │║ on Alice. Alice has always been good at ║ │ │║ reinventing himself and changing with the times, ║ │ │║ and this album is proof. How come, if I love ║ │ │║ this album so much, why did I give it only four ║ │ │║ stars. The song "Only My Heart Talkin'" makes me ║ │ │║ sick to my stomach. Buy this album if your an ║ │ │║ Alice fan or a hair metal fan, but avoid "Only ║ │ │║ My Heart Talkin'" ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ Follow-up to his metal-like effort 'Raise Your ║ │ │║ Fist And Yell' lp(see my review).Only complaint ║ │ │║ I might have about 'Trash' is that it appears to ║ │ │║ be a bit too commercial.However,he must've done ║ │ │║ something right because this CD turned out to be ║ │ │║ his first REAL successful album in years.Maybe ║ │ │║ it's because he ended up hooking up with ace ║ │ │║ producer Desmond Child.The music is ║ │ │║ good,sometimes I just sort of wish it could've ║ │ │║ been a little heavier.Cuts I thought were ║ │ │║ happening include the MTV favorite(even to this ║ │ │║ day)"Poison","House Of Fire","Bed Of Nails",the ║ │ │║ title track "Trash" and "Hell Is Living With ║ │ │║ You"(Sam Kinison's theme song,perhaps?)that was ║ │ │║ co-written by Cooper,Child and Jon Bon ║ │ │║ Jovi.Check it out. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ It was the backup vocals that didn't set in well ║ │ │║ at first. Then, it was the whole fact that it ║ │ │║ was Cooper from the 80's, and this was my first ║ │ │║ introduction to Cooper in the 80's. ║ │ │║ As I started listening to more of his albums, I ║ │ │║ really began to enjoy this one. Plus, "Trashes ║ │ │║ the World" is one of my favorite live ║ │ │║ performances. A must. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ I wouldn't recommend starting out on this album ║ │ │║ if you're just getting into Cooper. Start with ║ │ │║ "Love it To Death" or "Killer". But if you're ║ │ │║ really in it for the raw, original Cooper, go ║ │ │║ for "Freak Out", the little gem that I love. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ "This Maniac's In Love With You" is by far my ║ │ │║ favorite track. ║ │ │║ "I'm Your Gun" comes second. ║ │ │║ And then of course, "Poison". ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ Not a bad effort. With a few flaws, you can't go ║ │ │║ wrong.s ║ │ │║ Go pick it up. ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ ║ │ │╚════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │╔═════════════════════╗ │ │║ Release Tracklist ║ │ │╚═════════════════════╩══════════════════════════════════════════ │ │ │ │ 01 - Poison [04:30] │ │ 02 - Spark In The Dark [03:52] │ │ 03 - House Of Fire [03:48] │ │ 04 - Why Trust You [03:13] │ │ 05 - Only My Heart Talkin' [04:48] │ │ 06 - Bed Of Nails [04:20] │ │ 07 - This Maniac's In Love With You [03:48] │ │ 08 - Trash [04:01] │ │ 09 - Hell Is Living Without You [04:11] │ │ 10 - I'm Your Gun [03:48] │ │ │ │ Total Length : [40:19 minn │ │ │ │ │ │ ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │ ╔═════════════════════╗ │ │ ║ Greetings To: ║ │ │ ╚═════════════════════╝ │ │ │ │ Too all people who contributes to make this │ │ archive of good music in a exceptional conditions │ │ │ │ │ │ │ │■ ■│ └───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
