After remixes from the likes of Tim Penner, Santiago Garcia, Huminal and Mohn, Proton Music now returns to transmit a final Signal with Brazilian and Australian flair. Brazilian DJ and producer with talent in abundance, Danny Oliveira has created an aura around his DNYO persona that shines brightly through an immaculate approach to his craft. Revered in his homeland and beyond for his work as a touring DJ at events including Poland, Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro, Oliveira's production work has seen his music feature on an Adidas FIFA World Cup campaign for Germany 2006 as well as being a finalist in Sasha's Cut Me Down remix competition for Last Night on Earth. A stellar portfolio of releases has subsequently followed with work signed to Flow Vinyl, Replug and Vapour. Furthermore microCastle has been home to an array of high class production material including the Gain Phaser and Aquatika EPs, the latter going on to receive high-profile remixes including Max Cooper, Luis Junior and Sobota himself. DNYO's work for Proton Music is no less impressive with the outstanding Echo and Future Blending EPs seeing reworks from the likes of Dousk, Cid Inc. and Kobana. Now turning his attentions to Andre Sobota, the DNYO remix of Signal is a rampant tour de force that builds in vibrant energy through a pounding beat and rasping, pulsating bass line that permeates through the listener's every fibre. Intelligently interpreting elements from Sobota's original, there is a unique and dynamic tension to DNYO's work that instantly places the Brazilian at the forefront of the underground music scene. Kieran Krohn under his Verve production alter ego is no stranger to the modern music industry. An acute understanding of the modern AandR process has been realised at the sharp end of the music industry before becoming label manager of his own FutureForm imprint. On the flipside of the coin, Verve continues to impress with a stream of high calibre original and remix production work for the underground music industry's leading imprints. Combining fundamental elements of minimal, tech and techno fused together in progressive arrangements the Australian's sound has continued to mature through his original and remix work for Lowbit, Stripped and Wasabi. A regular on Particles with his remixes of Dapple Apple, Exoplanet and Ferdy, the original track Fusion represented a highlight with remixes from Inkfish and Danny Bonnici. A pair of remixes for Kobana and Tvardovsky represent Verve's outstanding work for Proton Music thus far and it is with great pleasure that we now welcome him back for a third remix. Taking a deep and intelligent approach to his craft, the Verve remix of Signal sees Krohn carefully use elements from the original fused with a raft of additional production material to create a work of skill and intrigue. Sobota's hypnotic riff maintains a constant thread while freeform melodic phrasing creates additional layers of texture and contemplation in a work that illustrates Verve's elegant approach.
