Time Under Tension is the aptly named debut release from Anthony
Jimenez, an artist/ DJ who has really evolved his craft since
relocating to Detroit in 2012 where his dark, driving techno sets have
been a feature of Blank Code events and podcasts. In the opening
track, Eternal, the only percussion you will hear is the occasional
clang of metal on metal being churned through effects designed to
exploit hidden resonant harmonics. Dissonance brings a thick, heavy
atmosphere that really stands out against it's straightforward kick
and minimal percussion. Conflict balances a funky kick with on point
hats and haunting synths that resonate from background to foreground
as heavily reverberated bursts of noise get stuck in the track's delay
line. Hypertrophy is Detroit style Techno at it's finest. A
warehouse­worthy kick and hats on the ups support the ring modulated
percussion that forms the track's loopy hook, with crunchy claps
