Part of the sultry 16-track package that comprised the Summer Particles 2014 compilation, Antrim and his track, Metheny, provided an arpeggio led work that twinkled and sparked with soft rhythmic poise in a moment of delightful contemplation. Now returning for a full release, Metheny is well served with remixes from Australia, Greece and Argentina. Melbourne's GMJ has trodden an impressive path in recent times with a steady flow of production material throughout 2014 that has caught the attention of an ever-widening fan base. A renowned DJ, he describes his sets founded upon a passion for deep spatial atmospheric music. Having performed at venues across the globe, his production work has hit the catalogues of Open Records, Vapour and Stripped with regular frequency. Supported by the likes of Eelke Kleijn, Kassey Voorn and Dousk, quality is one component that has not been in short supply. November's Forgotten Wisdom EP for Particles marked a high point for the GMJ sound as Gavin Griffin now returns to remix Antrim. A complex rhythmic foundation forms the backdrop for a sustained pad to wash over the listener, evolving and pulsating throughout the track. Full of emotion with haunting vocal and deep bass treatments, the GMJ Silent Pause Mix of Metheny is an impressive work hinting cleverly at Antrim's original. Greek producer Simos Tagias has been responsible for a prolific burst of material during the course of 2014. Gradually carving out a niche sound with each release, his work for Lynx, Stellar Fountain and Silk Angel have each brought him greater notoriety and support. Accomplished in both original production material and remix work, Tagias' music has seen him feature two original works on the Spring and Summer Particles 2014 compilation series, combined with two remixes of Jelly For The Babies and Omar El Gamal in April and July. Remixing Antrim, the Simos Tagias interpretation opens with hi-hat urgency and up-tempo feel. Cleverly using the melodic foundations of the original with sensitivity, Tagias creates a sublime texture of bass and pads with a reworking of the arpeggio to provide a strong fast-paced piece with sinister edginess. Martin Kazez claims his current role is trying to understand and explain life through sounds. Born and raised in Argentina, a clutch of releases to his name has thus far seen his work allied to such impressive imprints as Stripped Digital, Green Snake and OLD SQL. At home with both original and remix productions, Kazez claims his music is from my heart and for your soul. A debutant to Particles through the Fall 2013 compilation, Martin Kazez's Untouchable is now joined by his remix of Metheny. A soft meandering journey of subtle rhythm and melodic interplay, clicking percussive elements are juxtaposed against soft pads to provide elegant reminders of Antrim's original melodic phrases. The resultant work is a creation of skill and subtlety for his fellow countryman. A group of new interpretations has taken Antrim and his Metheny to a new milieu of impressive underground house.
