In the summer of 2004 they had a few jamsessions with eachother, which became the beginning of a band. As it turned out one of these guys had a brother who played the drums so that position was filled very quickly. That summer they went to the Lowlands festival, and found a bassplayer in Rutger, a friend of theirs. You could say that the band was born then and there. At that point the boys started to look for a good place to rehearse. They applied for a rehearsalplace at the Nox in heerlen, where bands such as 37 stabwoundz and Better off were already rehearsing. So they started writing some tunes there late October. After the process of screwing some songs up, altering some songs and deleting a bunch they found the genre which they all suited best. After a few inspiring rehearsals they decided to go look for someone to fill in the vocal parts, so Dave placed an add since they didn't know any singers themselves. And with success: Bart v.d. Kleut responded and guess what: they already knew him, but didn't think a second about the fact that he could fill in the vocal parts.. Over the past time Bart's voice developed a great sound that fitted exactly in Arise out of Leftfield. About the bandname: They wanted to have a non-clichΘ name.. working towards the new name they used "Nothing", but since that sucked bigtime, they started brainstorming.. But it wasn't a bandmember who eventually came up with a name. It was Tommie's (Blindsight) girlfriend Hanna who came up with it! So from that time on "Nothing" became "Arise out of Leftfield"! Right now the boys have completed an entire set and are busy doing their first couple of promotional shows and it's up to the 'critics' to decide what metal-genre they belong to. The songs mainly consist of metal-core kind of riffs, in combination with some hardcore. So if you're ever in the neighbourhood of a show be sure to check them out!!
