Now, I donÆt generally write music for other people or work on other peopleÆs songs. ItÆs just too difficult in the heat of the moment to know whatÆs good or not, and IÆd end up giving away some of my best shit. But this is the exception. Last summer, I headed to AshleyÆs studio... heÆd just got out of hospital after a fight with meningitis as you may have read about at the time and had escaped narrowly with his life. He looked thin and you could tell heÆd been proper sick. We hit the studio, and he tells me about how - at his lowest moment - he made a promise to himself that if he got out alive, heÆd forever work to help people in the same position via charity work etc. He then played me a instrumental tune heÆd written in hospital and it was fucking brilliant. Immediately, an idea for a chorus came into my head. Soon, a verse and pre follows. I start to write down some lyrics from AshÆs perspective, and an hour later, after a few calls with our master lyricist mate Geraint Jones, we had a song! And who better to sing it than the amazing Evan Henzi (who you hopefully know from my track Call To Arms?). This is an amazing track by Ash which IÆm proud to have had a part in, some small payback for all the production help heÆs given me over the years (heÆs done production work on four tracks on my coming album too).
