The album was | | recorded with George Hayes Orchestra under CBS Records label and | | released in Europe and South Africa. | | | | Unfortunately, even English lyrics and perfect delivery couldn't | | endear him to Western audiences who preferred their own parochial pop | | while listening closely to trendsetters from England; more so, Manco | | couldn't offer anything genuinely original to prospective listeners | | with a slightly retro sonics so favorable back at home. There's charm | | to every Baris' release but "Baris Mancho" is the strangest entry in | | the musician's rich cache. | | | | Although the album did not bring the fame he was expecting, it did | | reach the top of the charts in Romania and Morocco. The following | | year, the album was released in Turkey under the title "Nick the | | Chopper". | | | | Track 11 (Dragon Fly) is an outtake, issued as a bonus on the 2000 CD | | and cassette editions.
