Here in the █ █ States metal is not nearly as worshiped as it is █ █ in Indonesia, Singapore, and India. Despite the █ █ lack of bands that tour there, a scene of rabid █ █ devotees has sprung up. I feel right now Far █ █ Eastern metal is the strongest and Demonic █ █ Incursion backs this idea quite well. █ █ Sound-wise it is a frantic, yet concentrated brand █ █ of brutal death, death, thrash, and hints of black █ █ metal. Lead man Hades barks and yells blasphemous █ █ tales of evil with a distinct, yet subtle accent. █ █ Stylistically, it is not a trademark for death █ █ metal, but much more so of black metal, yet the █ █ surrounding riffs paint a different picture. █ █ The never-ending frantic nature of the riffing is █ █ an instant headbanger, perfectly likened to old █ █ school death metal mixed with new school █ █ extremity. Drum-wise, blast beats are more or less █ █ the constant, but there is quite a banging nature █ █ to them. It isn't as exhausting as blast beats █ █ usually are and are just used more correctly. █ █ Overall musically, it would be best described as a █ █ mix of Vital Remains, Hour of Penance, and a █ █ touch, or more so a tad, of second wave black █ █ metal such as Mayhem, Burzum, and early Dimmu █ █ Borgir. Lyrically, the themes vary from evil, your █ █ good touch of blasphemy, and some Oriental █ █ mythology. █ █ Do not hesitate to listen to this album. You won't █ █ be disappointed in the least. If you are a fan of █ █ the burgeoning Far Eastern metal movement but █ █ prefer a little more than slamming and guttural █ █ vocals, Battlecross is for you.
