Part of the trio of musical visionaries responsible for the foundation of the Proton Radio concept in 2002, the Canadian has gone on to become a leading figure in the world of music production, culminating now in a return to Proton Music with the brand new track, Metaphysical including a remix from UK producer, Orsen. A man whose talent centres upon the use of outboard synths and modular equipment, the Biologik sound has seen the Toronto resident flourish in both the live and studio environments. A self-proclaimed love of lush pads and crunchy beats has seen Biologik develop a distinctive production style that encompasses elements of progressive, deep and tech house with a smattering of techno thrown in for good measure. Live personal appearances in North America and Europe have become a staple of the Biologik sound as has an enviable production career. Three full-length albums for Proton Music and Silk Sofa are the centrepiece of an extraordinary body of work that includes a Beatport Album of the Year in 2013 for Two and a collection of downtempo offerings in Dreamcatcher that offers music from the Biologik soul. Alongside, a half-century of production credits for Particles and Proton, work for Stellar Fountain, Sleepless Nights and OLD SQL tell the story of a man full of passion and talent. Metaphysical is thus a beautifully crafted offering full of trademark melodic elements that have become a staple of the Biologik sound. Haunting, ethereal motifs and textured pads provide a luscious audioscape for a strong house beat to supply hypnotic precision as kick, snare and hi-hats make their presence felt in a work of poise and beauty. UK born but Austrian based, Dan Beasley, has hit a rich vein of production form through his Orsen soubriquet since a debut for Optimized Recordings in the shape of 2014's Sticks and Stones EP. A love for multiple styles combined with unusual field recordings and sound design has made the Orsen sound truly unique as Beasley continues to develop a cultured production style that has begun to assemble a swathe of followers including such leading lights as Barry Jamieson, Blake Jarrell and Silinder. The Look Twice EP on Cid Inc's. Replug continued to chart a path of success for Orsen in March 2015, before a debut on Particles saw the three-track Elysium demonstrate a overflowing well of talent from within Orsen's musical imagination. Returning to Particles once more, the Orsen remix of Metaphysical illustrates Beasley's penchant for analogue fuelled beats with a pulsating work that carefully combines elements from Biologik's original into a new throbbing club version with a vibrancy and dynamism that is full of Orsen's distinctive style witnessed through a panoply of additional production material to mesmeric effect.
