In August 2014, Canadian producer and live performance artist, Biologik, added another string to an already bulging box of bowstrings with the Minx EP on Proton Music. A talented individual with legion productions to his name and credited with the incipient birth of the Proton Radio enterprise, the Biologik name is highly respected throughout the underground music industry. As Proton now revisits Minx two standout remixes have been commissioned courtesy of Australia and North America. A penchant for deep synth lines, driving bass and pulsating rhythms, Matty Doyle has proven himself to be an impressive talent over a career that has seen him grace the clubs of London and his Melbourne hometown with a style that has earned him fans from across the globe. A live act using a host of outboard equipment and MIDI triggering devices has added further depth to his live work. With music signed to such luminary imprints as Balkan Connection, Stellar Fountain and FutureForm, Matter has steadily grown in stature and reputation with a work ethic and production talent to be admired. Making his debut for Proton Music, the Matter remix of Freon is a sublime offering that captures the essence of Biologik's original and turns it into a confluence of counterpoint melodies that criss-cross the stereo spectrum in rising energy, anchored by a shuffling percussive rhythm and intelligent bass line. Evocative chord progressions and key changes add further to a work that is a notable highlight in the Matter production portfolio. Canadian producers, Moosefly, have suitably erudite ambitions for an artist outfit with a supreme set of skills and no inconsiderable talent as, the prodigal prince of flying fauna. A rapidly growing name with an ever-expanding fan base among club goers and DJs alike, Moosefly have carved out a deep and tech house niche of sizeable proportions.
