This new CD-R sees the pair making a marked improvement in their work. The seven tracks of this CD-R are adept and adrenaline-pumping electro pieces, packed with anthemic choruses, catchy verses and pounding club-friendly beats and epic sequencer rhythms. Afterburn kicks off with dynamic propulsion fuelled by der MateÆs keen sense of rhythm and timing and der MateÆs solid vocal delivery. The combination of hard beats, sweeping synths, engaging vocals and strong sequencer rhythms is basically the foundation and body of Brain Trigger. There is not a lot of variation, but it all works. WireframeÆs 4/4 beats are wrapped in bleeping keyboards and washes of synthesizer chords, with which der MazeÆs clear and well-timed vocals mix is perfect unison. Techno underscores Brainstream with excellent results and the darker chords of Perception are particularly well done, while keeping a fast-paced and rushing techno-beat well under control. Silent opts for a murkier sound with lower-end harmonies and a liquid-like shimmering and stabbing syth-work, which Zero utilises to great effect as well. The only real variation comes with Void Ad Remover, a noisy collage of exploding distortion, violent screeching and wall after wall of static outbursts. With Brain Trigger, Blank have refined their club-oriented ebm, making good on their promise made by 424C414E4B, and giving one more reason to make der Maze and der Mate dancefloor regulars. Enjoy...
