Their latest offering, Daydreams in Kyoto, proves to be another exceedingly deep and soulful offering. Rounding out the EP, Blugazer contributes Whisps, a lush, chilled breaks composition. The atmospheric and often blissful Daydreams in Kyoto centers on an almost aquatic soundscape, replete with myriad pad layers that submerge the cavernous groove. Meanwhile, in the distance, The Cynic Project can be heard gently whispering the recurring line, because of the sound waves, a sensual compositional element that evokes the mythological Sirens. Blugazer's mesmerizing instrumental motifs continue to crescendo, as dancing arp lines begin to weave in and out of the mellifluous arrangement. After the journey peaks at the three-quarter mark, a smooth diminuendo offers the listener a relaxing wind-down and a moment of peaceful exhalation. From the start of Blugazer's breathtaking Whisps, seemingly infinite melodic layers set the listener adrift. Chilled breaks and shakers only enhance the soothing aura. A patient crescendo leads to a meditative main breakdown, in which the heavily filtered low-end elements leave extra space for the sparking synth lines.
