The Matrix EP contains a fair few breakbeat tunes which hare off at breakneck speed - æ505-10Æ and æRoute 53Æ for instance. These tracks show the influence of genre luminaries like Squarepusher, though they arenÆt quite as manic as his productions. There are also moments such as æSpring Track 2Æ and æ13thÆ where Bot1500 slows things down. This trick which brings out the melodiousness of his synth work very nicely, the warm pads bouncing off dinky synth motifs to lovely effect.
