They independantly produced and released several critically acclaimed albums that were very successful grass roots campaigns. They sold tens of thousands of units in mom & pop shops and out of the trunk. But... they just couldn't seem to stop selling crack in Gary, Indiana -- and, to be fair, who could? The Concord neighborhood, at that time, was literally a warzone with a giant landfill in the middle of it, populated almost exclusively by glass dick suckers. The police didn't even go there. All 3 of these guys (the 2 from the group, C-Mack & E.G., along with one of em's brother who I believe served as the label exec / Mr. Arm&Hammer-man) ended up with life sentences. Convicted of selling less than 2 ounces of crack OVER A 7-YEAR PERIOD.... along with some minor-Felony marijuana distribution charges, and they all got L-I-F-E.
