RELEASE NOTES ..:: ] ............................ A welcome return to the Particles fold finds Chihaka growing with his three-track Pinda. Remixes comes from Belgian and Greek artists. A 2019 newcomer to the Particles roster, Chihaka hit the headlines with his Nyara EP in October 2019. Three original works shone a light on the Dubai resident's talents as he now returns with another musical triptych rich in piano. The title track is a melodic house gem that sparkles with shaker-fuelled top-line before cascading arpeggio comes to the fore. Emotive piano phrases add melancholy and, hitting its stride post-breakdown, a glorious arpeggiated collage converges and diverges alongside the magical keys. Continuing the rich arpeggios of the lead tack, Kuntanga hits hard with driving beat, laconic off-beat percussion and hi-hat urgency. A metronomic riff adds dynamism before another beautiful piano sequence shines through the breakdown with subtle melodic nuances building into layers of intricate patterns. Iri Pamoto continues the complex piano narrative with it its emotional chord progressions. A driving arpeggio sits atop to provide energy and structure against deep kick, fizzing shakers and clicking clave patterns. The result is the perfect solution to 'less equals more' equation. Hitting the headlines with his 2018 Home EP for Nico Morano's Atmosphere Records, Naethan had already found success in his Belgium homeland with performances at Tomorrowland and Extrema Outdoor. Going on to feature for the likes of Nothing But, LW Recordings and Kanvas in 2019, Naethan's remix of Rick Pier O'Neil's Shining for Particles in July showcased a promising start for the Belgian. Now remixing to remix the title track, his reworking of Pinda carries the melodic poignancy of the original with its inclusion of Chihaka's piano phrases. Adding a swathe of original production material to his remix, a driving beat and high-energy percussion provide the framework for a series of arpeggios and flowing melodies to evolve from a sonic kernel rooted firmly in Chihaka's original. The outcome is an impressive and innovative offering sure to find favour in clubs across the globe. V-Sag has a long association with the underground dance movement with the Greek artist developing a growing fanbase as resident artist on hybridized.org, before a triple century of production credits for some of the finest imprints illustrated an impressive talent and ability. Since 2006, V-Sag has seen his music signed to such leading labels as Pure Substance, Vapour Recordings and ARVA, supported by Digweed, Cattaneo and Deep Dish. It is thus an honour to welcome such a celebrated name to the Particles roster with a typically impressive production. A laid-back, rolling groove provides the perfect framework for the rich melodic motifs of Pinda to shine. A hypnotic arpeggio ripples enticingly across proceedings with increasing reverb before it cascades into a new pattern linked symbiotically to the keys underneath. Waxing and waning with ease across its near seven-minute journey, the result is a sonic triumph.
