Presenting his first original project of 2020, Henri Hurtig aka Cid Inc. returns to Replug Records with a two-track artist showcase. 2019 proved to be another year of successes for the Finnish producer. The March release of his well received 'Via Karela' EP got the year underway, setting the stage for contributions to Hernan Catteneo's 'Balance Presents Sunsetstrip' compilation and the Armadillo Records 'Fields, Vol. 1' collection. October then saw Henri commemorate Replug's ten-year anniversary with the Orsen collaboration 'Ten', before returning to Guy J's Lost and Found Records with a chart-topping remix of Kasper Koman's 'Hi' to round the year out in style. Now following a remix for Einmusika to begin 2020, Cid Inc. lands back on his comfortable home of Replug Records with the much anticipated 'Citadel'. Having been a highlight and much requested track of Cid Inc's recent gigs, it is the melodic wonder 'Citadel' which gets the EP underway. Rhythmically buoyant, it's rippling low end, spastic synths and fiery percussive set the piece on a course for aural enlightenment. Metallic accents steal the air at opportune moments as a quirky acid line rises into the main break. Effervescent modulation sizzles across the centrepiece, devilish and emotive in equal measure, eventually reaching a rousing crescendo as the groove drops for a storming finale. Rounding out the EP is the equally excellent 'Rescue Me'. In carving out a distinctive groove, Cid Inc. has fashioned a strong foundation, flanked by layers of finely tuned percussion and rhythmic pulses. Charging forward, siren-like synths descend over the framework, adding a radiant glow as the breakdown commences. Moments of euphoric reflection encapsulate the centrepiece, before melting down to a trail of vocal fragments and charged beats.
