It was highlighting the more │ │ Christian oriented synthpop bands that were out there, and in that │ │ interview, Joey B. named this band, Code Of Ethics, as one of his │ │ inspirations. Well, to make a long story short I became a huge EG fan, but │ │ never really gave COE more than a passing glance. │ │ │ │ Well, my fellow fans on the EG fan forum encouraged me to give COE and │ │ several other bands a try. And I must say, I was pleasantly surprised at │ │ what I found! This is actually some pretty good synthpop! There are some │ │ very catchy popsongs here. Some of the synths do sound a little dated, but │ │ this was recorded back in 1993, so that's to be expected. Also, the music │ │ in this album does have the occasional guitar parts, but they tend to │ │ blend in with the music, rather than dominating it. Songs such as │ │ "Freedom", "True Love", "Chasing The Dragon" and "Something Real" are all │ │ really catchy songs, and could easily get lodged in the brain for a good │ │ while. The only real clunker on here was "Satellite Babies". Just the │ │ phrase "Satellite Babies" sounds silly to me, and therefore it's hard for │ │ me to take the song seriously. I know what Barry Blaze was trying to say │ │ with the song.. he could have picked a much better turn of phrase for it, │ │ though. │ │ │ │ One thing to note, this band is more direct with their songwriting than, │ │ say, Joy Electric is. That may bother some listeners. I like it, but not │ │ everybody will. That sometimes happens when someone expresses their faith │ │ openly - some people don't take it well. │ │ │ │ Anyway, I found this to be a pretty good album.
