Their Leader is Sergio "Tilo" Gonzalez, one of the most peculiar drummers of SouthAmerica. Gonzalez, instead of drinking from the obvious Sources as Samba or Salsa decided to pursue a more ambitious path so he hs integrated indigenous influences into his universe. It is not very common that the drummer is the leader of a band, but he accomplishes the job with great sucsess and with unique results. Los Fuegos del Hielo is their most academic an ambitious album to date and surely the most elaborated of them all. With influences as varied as Chilean Cueca or the Works of Penderecki this album is a unique experience and a travel to the overwhelming and desolate landscapes of the limits of the South Pole. Is the story of a last man, last of his race or maybe last of us all. It has been said that Congreso is the model of the Southamerican band. The quitaesential post-latin-sound rock ensemble that wants to go beyond... never stopping looking for a sound path to express poetry and ideas.
