On this 7" they │ │ present two piece which are particularly coherent and rhythm based. Loop │ │ Contamination - rolling drumming plays, joined by the clatter of bowls and │ │ cymbals, chanting voices filtered by the whole, gradually coming through │ │ in a sing song style. Guitar grinds against the rise of a strumming bass │ │ line, discord muffled by purity and persistence. Voices can be heard, │ │ dialogue that sounds as though it is going backwards, at it's clearest │ │ point triggering the return of the upbeat percussive dynamic. Increasingly │ │ beat driven, clattering festival celebrants getting into the whole thing, │ │ with swirls and contrasts choking background details. Returning once more │ │ to clearer voices, contrasted by resurgent guitar reverberations. │ │ Bristling in a more reduced form, percussion now more periodic clangs and │ │ metallic strikes amongst the growling level. Working up again for a │ │ moment, then reducing, maintaining a certain level of energy throughout. │ │ Leading to the end with lone percussion hard strikes illustrating power. │ │ Earache Floor - low whistling drive plays with loose echoing percussion, │ │ metallic strokes building into a clatter. Intensifying quickly as noise │ │ whispers with voices and the whole bristles with an energy. Japanese │ │ chanting repeats a ritual, with only that low whisper marking it. As the │ │ female voices take off, effected and reversed, clear drumming starts up to │ │ go with it, suffering the same effects in the process. Percussive noise is │ │ mixed in for a moment and the piece strips back down again to garbled │ │ tv/radio style voices. Tape loop glitches squeak and squeal with stuttered │ │ siren calls, which stretch out with a deep regular drum coming in with │ │ that. Industrial clatters smack and echo, voices agitate and the siren │ │ distress call rises (can I hear James Brown in there? I'd swear at one │ │ point I can).
