Mexico native Mauricio Olivos aka DJ and producer Coss Bocanegra debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the superb three track EP titled The Room. Mauricio burst onto the scene in 2015 when he signed his first ep with UK based Detour Musique. His perseverance and creativity have made him adapt to new sounds and methods of producing, expressing his ideas and feelings in each of his tracks. He has recently spread his sound internationally having signed to various labels including our very own Bonzai Progressive. When he's not in the studio, he provides skillful sets for the In And Out Music crew. We're delighted to have him on board and no doubt we'll be seeing more soon. The Room delivers a sublime progressive groove made up of swirling pads and tight, rhythmic percussions, led by a punchy kick drum and a sub level bassline that rattles the bins with aggression. A subtle retro vibe is evident on the arpeggio, almost veering into 303 territory, but not quite. The plucks of the arp mesmerize and become a major focus in the groove along with some very cool vocals, adding character. A dark mover that will rock the floors, no doubt. The sonically charged theme from the title track continues into Erendira albeit with a chunkier groove. The track intros with thumping kicks and dark, gritty basses which contrast with a soft voice and bright, hypnotic arpeggio. The bassline is massive, commanding authority and dominating the groove with ease. Gated vox create an emotive element filled with a melodic undertow which adds to the contrasting nature of the track. The break softens down to focus on the synths before rising back to the main groove for the duration. A stomping slice for the tougher floors. Last Moment finishes up this trio of sublime cuts and, stays true to the theme that we've come to love. A chunky groove leads us into a darker arena complete with more of those captivating, classic spoken vocals that become the narrative. Big, punchy kick drums lead a rhythmic percussion section which is laced with quality FX and a deep, rumbling bassline. Smooth, housey chords stack up against sweeping synths and mesmerizing arps.
