At that time Dan was singing. In '86, Christian Linderson joined the band as the singer. Christer Pettersson joined them in '88 and they changed name to Count Raven . In March '89, Count Raven went into the studio to record their first demo. This demo was later on reviewed in the July/August issue of Metal Forces (n:o 41), resulting in huge response from fans, fanzines and radio stations from all over the world. And that resulted in a deal with Whiteflower Records, a Swedish label, and later on a license agreement with Hellhound in Germany. In May/June '90, Count Raven recorded their debut Album called "Stormwarning". The critics where overwhelmed when the Album was released, or just to name a few: - 4 K (of 5) in Kerrang (n:o 324 Jan '91 England) - 10 (of 10) in Rockhard (n:o 44 Germany) and voted "Best Doom Album" in Germany Then they did two compilation CD's, "Dark Passages" and "What the Hell". The follower, "Destruction of the Void", also got huge response from the critics. E.g. 7 out of 7 in Metal Hammer etc. etc. During the recording of "Destruction of the Void", Christian left the band to join Saint Vitus. Instead of trying out a new singer, Dan went back to singing. Now the band signed up for Hellhound and did "High on Infinity". It was voted "album of the month" in Rockhard and hit no. 2 in Metal Hammer sound check etc. etc. In Aug/Sep '95, the CD "Messiah of Confusion" was recorded, and it was released in Feb '96. They have been touring in Europe during these years ('90-'95). In '98 the band split up and took a break, and reunited in summer of 2003. Now the Raven is spreading its wings again... http://www.countraven.com --------------- | Group news: | --------------- New year, new tricks. The whole purpose of our group was and still is to release high quality VBR rips of older and not-so-well known albums that are virtually impossible to find from the scene anymore. You will see us doing mostly internals and if you don't like them then you don't download them - simple as that. Personally I got sick of trying to find a little older, decent quality rip of any album. You can also expect some Finnish stuff from us. Sharing music that we find interesting is our sole purpose, and we greet everyone who is doing the same thing out there. Don't worry, be happy :) Peace. Mar-07-2005 - FdT PS. We are still interested in any bloody piece of ascii art so if someone would be willing to support us, please contact ;)
