With this it came a screensaver for Windows and Macintoys that we decided not to release. Maybe in the future if there's a demand for it. :) Here's what it says in the booklet: "Once upon a time there was the future. The future was a mysterious and fascinating place where we really wanted to be. We wanted to see, hear and feel what awaited us around the next corner. In the early 1990's, where our journey began, the future was not an altogether nice place. It was full of pollution, nuclear war and general nastiness as well as hope, glory and a brave new world. But this was a major part of our fascination for it. We - Clas, Eskil and myself - had been friends for years and we had even made some preliminary research together. Clas was a demon at programming synths and he was one of the first people in Sweden to own a sampler. Eskil knew how to play the keyboard. Man, he could even read music! And he had a decent voice. I had a certain gift for writing and enough enthusiasm to compensate for my lack of dexterity. We all liked to make noise. So it felt natural that we pooled our individual talents to focus upon this great adventure. All for one and one for all, as they used to say in France. Of course we needed a vehicle to make the trip in, so we decided to build ourselves a musical time machine; a transportation device for the mind as well as for the body. We proudly christened our creation "Covenant" and launched it with a lot of noise on a beautiful spring day in 1994. This virgin trip into the unknown proved to be the most important excursion we had ever done and in a sense we never really came back. Once the wheels had been set in motion we had no way of returning. And more important: we didn't want to. Just like all good travellers and explorers before us we documented our discoveries in a logbook. We named the first one "Dreams of a Cryotank". It has since then been followed by "Sequencer", "Europa" and now you hold the fourth chapter in your hand: "United States of Mind". The future of "United States of Mind" bears little similarity to the one of "Dreams of a Cryotank", as you are about to find out. In fact they are all different. And that's because the future is an ever-changing place. Which of course is the reason why we keep going there. As we all know the future is not a three-dimensional, physical place. It has no geographic location and no specific population. It's simply what we decide to make of it, neither more nor less. If we want it to be a cold dark and hostile place it will become exactly like that. If we want it to be a place worth visiting it can become that instead. And this is one of the reasons that we have made our travelogues available to you as an invitation for the ride. They are presentations of the multitude of futures we have seen so far and background information for our travels to come. The future looks better with you. And it begins tomorrow..." All mp3 couriers behind him - Pride is forever! MORAL DiSCLAiMER: We are very aware of the fact that our releases contibute to the growing sale losses of record companies. Unfortunately our style primarily targets small, independent labels that need sales to survive. If you know the market you┤ve noticed that "Off Beat" already died, "Zoth Ommog" is writing red turnovers; as do many other small labels dedicated to Electro/Industrial/Goth. We highly encourage you to buy this album if you like the rip: With average sales of 1ooo-7ooo presses/album worldwide, neither artists nor labels get "rich" in this genre. YOUR support is required to keep them financially alive and producing!
