Part of the Particles summer schedule of high quality releases, Deep Fog and Cream's Neverland shone a light into the Polish duo's mind with an EP full of impressive vision and scope. Particles now returns to the twin-track offering with revitalised remixes of both tracks from the USA and Germany. Nick Stoynoff is a man with a long history of involvement in the dance music industry. Hailing from the home of house music, the Chicago resident has been at the vanguard of the underground scene through his various production work as well as head of AandR for Solarstone's Molecule imprint. A regular DJ across his hometown and beyond, opening slots for Hernan Cattaneo, Gabriel and Dresden and 16 Bit Lolitas further illustrate an array of talents behind the deck in addition to those in front of the mixing desk. A host of label credits to his name, work for Black Hole, Silk Music and Afterglow has been complemented by an impressive portfolio for Proton Music which saw the Berlin Dream EP form a centrepiece including subsequent remixes from Tim Penner and Guy Mantzur. A clutch of productions for Particles in the shape of the 2009's Instinct EP, backed by a quartet of remixes for artists including Exoplanet and Kyohei Akagawa, is now further enhanced by a reworking of Secret Negative. Echoing themes from the strong bass vibe found in the original, Stoynoff's clever use of original components has created a smooth, low frequency monster that drives with precision and skill via crystal clear percussive groove and immaculate spot effects that opens up forcefully with additional melodies in the breakdown and beyond. The result is an impressive affair. Fresh from the success of his six-track Meteoritenschauer EP for Particles, German producer, Peter Sturm returns to Particles on a wave of success after a career under a variety of guises including Stormtrooper and PN-X-TG. A man with a penchant for the techno sound, previous incarnations as a hardcore sensation led to collaborations with The Speed Freak and Amok before 2013 saw a move into his newly preferred style. Subsequent productions for labels including Toolfunk and BQ Recordings have extolled Sturm's talents, as have original EPs in the shape of the three-track Tagtraum EP for Einmusika and the four-track Apart EP for Crosslink. Now returning to Particles for a debut remix, the Peter Sturm reworking of Neverland is a deep, dark tour de force that chills with spine-tingling melodic riffs, key changes and growling, pumping bass line. A thumping kick drum makes its present felt throughout as subtle percussive cadence adds further to an electric reworking of Deep Fog and Cream's original.
