A superb follow-up to his lackluster debut album. Forgot everything you heard on
"Agua Nueva" (except maybe "No Podras"), this is the REAL starting point for Cristian
Castro in my opinion. Gone are the awful deep vocals and bland pop-rock songs in
favor of a more danceable tunes and a more high pitched voice that would define
Cristian's music. From the get-go, we are introduced to the album by the first track
(which was also released as the lead single) "Nunca Voy a Olvidarte". It is a
beautiful cover that surpasses the original song by Bronco. It should come with no
surprise that it became Castro's first #1 hit on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks in
the US. It's that good. There are some real gems in the album ("Por Amor a Ti', "Es
Mejor Asi", "Soy"). Even the silliness of some of the lyrics like on "Mujer Especial"
doesn't stop the music from being good. On the title track (a song that Cristian
wrote himself), he reminds us that we're all merely "seconds in time" and that we
should cherish every moment. The only glaring flaws I can think are the lame tracks
like "Canta una Cancion" and "Fuiste Mia" (the worst song in the album). A good start
for those who wish to Cristian's albums in chronological order.
