A new image emerges around what was thought to be omitted to create a new whole."As I've been traveling and doing my shows for the last two years, I've noticed by the response I get that I have a unique crowd that follows me," says Esco, who is, in fact, color blind. "There are different races, different cultures and different people that I'm bringing together. There are Middle Easterners that know my story from 56 Nights, there are white people, there are black people, there are Asians, Hispanics. They're just coming to have fun for those few hours I'm deejaying. It's really everyone having a great time and nothing else matters. Nothing negative is happening. It's really a color blind moment. It's what's needed, especially considering what's going on with our country."Armed with his imagination, Esco set out to create his debut album, KOLORBLIND, with this ethos in mind.Having already released standout mixtapes, including Esco Terrestrial, No Sleep and 56 Nights, the Atlanta DJ recruited heavily for his new collection. Having spent the better parts of two years touring both on his own and with Future, DJ Esco picked up some new contacts and also rallied old friends. The result is a deep track list featuring the likes of A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, DeJ Loaf, O.T. Genasis, ScHoolboy Q, Ty Dolla $ign, Future, Nas, Rich The Kid, Guap Tarantino and Young Thug."I took my time to make this album," explains Esco, who produced the majority of the tracks with ARL Jacob, Dre Moon, DJ Spinz, Metro Boomin and Will A Fool. "I feel like projects now drop to keep fans thirsty or drinking from the well. I wanted this to come out and sound like an album. To custom make every song for every artist who is featured on that particular song. That's also why it's called KOLORBLIND, there are no boundaries, no black and white, no red and blue. When you listen to the music is purely enjoyment for musical purposes."Chief among those to enjoy is the standout "Walk Thru" featuring Nas & Future. "I came up with concept, where I was going with the song and just let Nas paint the picture. No one does it better, painting a picture than Nas. He's the goat of description."
