Boasting dance music luminaries such as John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Mark Knight, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman and Funkagenda as just some of his advocates, Dibby is firmly on track to becoming as prominent as his heavyweight admirers. Originally heralding from L'Derry in the north-west of the province, Dibby is currently based in Northern Ireland's capital Belfast. He holds a residency at the city's illustrious Yello, voted number 6 in dance music bible Mixmag's Top 10 UK clubs of 2008. Together with regular guest slots at Portrush super-club Lush!, over the last couple of years Dougherty has played alongside everyone from Groove Armada, Dirty Vegas and Crazy P to Nick Warren, SΘbastien LΘger and Josh Gabriel. Further afield, he is regularly invited to play at clubs in Europe, the Middle East and USA. Covering a broad spectrum of electronica, Dibby's DJ sets are largely based around progressive house and techno, however prepare to be mesmerised as he incorporates everything from lushious deep house to stabbing acid house into the equation. Always exhilarating but never predictable, Dibby commandeers the dancefloor with skill and precision. Describing his production style as "energetic and underground but firmly focussed on dancefloor friendly cuts", Dibby cites an array of prolific dance music influences. From the fresh sounds of labels such as Urban Torque, Rebirth and Cecille to the earlier influences of Sasha & Digweed's infamous Northern Exposure mixes and classic releases on London Recordings, Dibby draws inspiration from over a decade of dance music heritage. His distinctive productions have been released on revered labels such as Dave Seaman's Audiotherapy imprint, Global Underground, and Baroque. He has also had the honour of remixing for artists like Jimmy Van M, Eddie Richards, Jay Lumen and Oliver Moldan to name a few.
