RELEASE NOTES ..:: ] ............................ Diego Ferran returns to Onestar Records this week for his second artist showcase. The Colombian producer made his first appearance on the Colombian imprint in February of 2018 with his well received 'Cano Cristales' EP. Subsequent releases on Sonnet Speciale and DTL Records then solidified Diego's place amongst his country's rising pool of progressive house talent. Now making a welcome return to Onestar, the Bogota resident presents his much anticipated 'Mirrors / Between Lines' double a-side release. Dark and dramatic from the outset, it's 'Mirrors' which leads the release off. It's DJ friendly intro is complemented with indistinct voices and finely tuned percussion. Fluid arps and ominous pads soon descend over the framework, bringing further intrigue into the narrative before transferring energy into the main break. Timely and a touch grandiose, the arpeggiated clusters build across the centrepiece, flowing through heady modulation before a powerful drop ushers in an icy finale. The companion piece 'Between Lines' comes in a touch deeper and equally engaging. With more of an emotive lean Diego works smooth chord changes and choir like pads for a gorgeous sense of space. Smooth and nostalgic across it's nine minute running time, it's reflective qualities grow with each successive pass, before eventually peaking during a spine tingling break and heartfelt finale. It rounds out what is an incredible followup to 'Cano Cristales' and now sits as Diego's finest offering to date. Highly recommended.
