Site includes news, photos, discography and store. For their 5th album proper, Dirty Three decided to record in London. Some shows in Norway provided the necessary means of pulling them together from their various locations, as Dirty Three had been busy. Jim and Mick were continually performing with Nick Cave. Dirty Three performed at Australia's shows of shows, The Big Day Out, as well as opening for the music of Estonian composer Arvo Part as part of Mr Cave's Melton Festival, which included such luminaries as Nina Simone, Lee Hazelwood, the Bad Seeds, Les Patterson, Billie Whitelaw reading Samuel Beckett and an extaordinary interpretation of the Harry Smith American Music Anthology. Mick released his second solo record called Marlan Rosa and toured the states in his Cadillac. Jim performed a handful of times with Will Oldham, while Warren recorded with German diva Ute Lemper. And at the request of Pavement, Dirty Three played 9 shows with them in the US, from New Orleans to Tuscon. As a follow up to Ocean Songs and the locally released soundtrack to Austrailian movie Praise, Dirty Three chose to record demos in a deserted railway storage building in Paris. They then moved up to September Sounds recording studio to bang music to tape. The studio, home of their European label Bella Union, was orignally Eel Pie studios, built and used by the Who's Pete Townsend, which given the fact that after working on Ocean Songs, producer Steve Albini went on to record Page and Plant, makes for a curious series of vignettes. Produced by the band and Dr. Lincoln Fong, laid out in 5 days and mixed in 5 nights, it is a continuation of exploring musical structures, with a nod to all the alchemists, absurdists and the slightly insane. An instrumental outfit from the very beginning - some 8 years ago in Austraila - and having spent the most part of those 8 years living all over the world, Dirty three are testimony to the maverick sense of adventure displayed by other acts from that great land. Now, based in 3 different countries and united through an unadultered love of playing together, they offer you the new album, Whatever You Love, You Are. The opening track, "Some Summers They Drop Like Flies," sets the mood for this offering - plaintive and relentless, yet yearning with a rumbling and ominous pulse as its undercurrent. It also serves as a companian piece to "Sue's Last Ride" from 95's Horse Stories. "I Should Have Gone Out Last Night" offers a theme central to a large part of past sentiments from the group tracing a trajectory from the magnificent opus "Everything is Fucked" from their self-titled release through "I Remember a Time When Once You Used to Love Me" to "Deep Waters." These are songs of comfort in those not-so-wonderful times, for it is in those times that music can offer some salvation. And someday, brothers and sisters, you might find yourselves needing it. You may say many things about this group, but they have always gotten straight to the point. Known for their elaborate and rough-diamond symphonic pieces, "I Offered It Up to the Stars and the Night Sky" continues where "Indian Love Song," "Authentic Celestial Music" and again "Deep Waters" have found themselves treading. With is Bolero-like drum beat and more than a nod to tonal structures found in Debussy and other composers of that ilk and a twist of Stravinsky, it is a cry of emancipation, which culminates in a cathartic build-up that seems to have no end with its chest-bursting wailing. Out of the storm and into the calm, "Some Things I Don't Want to Know About" is a pause in those moments that make absolutely no sense at all. Like moments from past records, such as "You Were a Bum Dream", "Distant Shore" and "The Restless Waves," it is what you get at the other side that somehow gives meaning to what happened; a welcoming (if you like) of an inner calm, which leads into "Now Please Don't You Cry," a rattly dialogue full of the purest intentions. In the home stretch, "Lullaby for Christie," a pastoral statement with a repeated motive, explores the emotions contained between the notes. It's a call-and-response lullaby, if you will, sung between two people in a divine moment. The great Russian director Stanislavsky said, "A good actor should walk into a room, cook two eggs, eat them then leave," a sentiment which is echoed in the aspirations of this collection of songs. Dirty Three have alwasy been about getting down to it, and letting the listener do the work. Any way you decide, Whatever You Love, You Are is a message of hope in a sometimes hopeless world. ▐ ▐ ▌ ▌ ▄▓▌ ▐▓ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ▓▌ ▓▄ █▓█ ▐▓█▌ ░ ░ ░ ░▄▄▄ ░ ░░ ░░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ▐█▓▌ █▓█ ██▓▌ ▓▓▓█▄▄ ░░ ░▄▄▓█▀▀▀▀▀██▄▄░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░░ ░ ░ ▄▄█▓▓▓ ▐▓██ ▐█▓▓█▄ ▀▓▓▓██ ░▒▄█▀▀░ ░ ░ ░▀▀██▓▄▄▒ ░▒ ░▄▄▄▄▄█▓█▄▄▄░░ ░░ ██▓▓▓▀ ▄█▓▓█▌ █▓▓▓▓▀▀ ▀▓▓██▄▓▀ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░▒▀█▓█▓▄▄▄██▓▓█▓▀▀░ ░▀▀▀███▄▄▒░██▓▓▀ ▀▀▓▓▓▓█ █▓▓▌▄▓▓█▄ ▀███▒ ░ ░░ ░░ ░░░ ░░░▒░▒█▓▓████▓▓▀▒░░ ░ ░░ ░▀▀█████▀ ▄█▓█▄▐▓▓█ ▐▓▓▌▓██▓▓ ▄▓▀██▄▒░ ░░░░░░░░░▒▒▄▄█▓███▀█▓▓█░░░░ ░░ ░░░ ░░▄██▓▄ ▓██▓▓▐▓▓▌ █▓▌▀██▓▀ ▓▀ ▀▓█▄▒▒▒░░░▒▒▄▄█▓██▀▀▀ ▀██▓▄░▒▒ ░░ ░░▒░░▒▄▓▀ ▀▓ ▀▓██▀▐▓█ ▀▀ ▄▄▀ ▀▀█▓███▓█▓▀ ▀▀█▓█▓▄▒▒▒░▒▄▄▄▀▀ ▀▄▄ ▀▀ ▀▀ ▀██▀ ▀██▓▀▀▀▀▀ ▀▀ ▐▓ TRACK iNFORMATION █▌ █▄ ▄▓ ▀██▓██▓███████▓███████▀ 01 She Has No Strings Apollo [10:36] 02 Hope [06:41] 03 Alice Wading [13:22] 04 Everything's Fucked [07:11] 05 Deep Waters [14:46] ▐ ▐ ▌ ▌ ▄▓▌ ▐▓ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ▓▌ ▓▄ █▓█ ▐▓█▌ ░ ░ ░ ░▄▄▄ ░ ░░ ░░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ▐█▓▌ █▓█ ██▓▌ ▓▓▓█▄▄ ░░ ░▄▄▓█▀▀▀▀▀██▄▄░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░░ ░ ░ ▄▄█▓▓▓ ▐▓██ ▐█▓▓█▄ ▀▓▓▓██ ░▒▄█▀▀░ ░ ░ ░▀▀██▓▄▄▒ ░▒ ░▄▄▄▄▄█▓█▄▄▄░░ ░░ ██▓▓▓▀ ▄█▓▓█▌ █▓▓▓▓▀▀ ▀▓▓██▄▓▀ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░▒▀█▓█▓▄▄▄██▓▓█▓▀▀░ ░▀▀▀███▄▄▒░██▓▓▀ ▀▀▓▓▓▓█ █▓▓▌▄▓▓█▄ ▀███▒ ░ ░░ ░░ ░░░ ░░░▒░▒█▓▓████▓▓▀▒░░ ░ ░░ ░▀▀█████▀ ▄█▓█▄▐▓▓█ ▐▓▓▌▓██▓▓ ▄▓▀██▄▒░ ░░░░░░░░░▒▒▄▄█▓███▀█▓▓█░░░░ ░░ ░░░ ░░▄██▓▄ ▓██▓▓▐▓▓▌ █▓▌▀██▓▀ ▓▀ ▀▓█▄▒▒▒░░░▒▒▄▄█▓██▀▀▀ ▀██▓▄░▒▒ ░░ ░░▒░░▒▄▓▀ ▀▓ ▀▓██▀▐▓█ ▀▀ ▄▄▀ ▀▀█▓███▓█▓██▀ ▀▀█▓█▓▄▒▒▒░▒▄▄▄▀▀ ▀▄▄ ▀▀ ▀▀ ▀██▌ ▀███▀▀▀▀▀ ▀▀ ▐█ GROUP MEMBERS ▓▌ █▄ ▄█ ▀▓████▓██████████▓▀ Rippers: Umm Yea We Have a few ;) ▐ ▐ ▌ ▌ ▄▓▌ ▐▓ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ▓▌ ▓▄ █▓█ ▐▓█▌ ░ ░ ░ ░▄▄▄ ░ ░░ ░░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ▐█▓▌ █▓█ ██▓▌ ▓▓▓█▄▄ ░░ ░▄▄▓█▀▀▀▀▀██▄▄░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░░ ░ ░ ▄▄█▓▓▓ ▐▓██ ▐█▓▓█▄ ▀▓▓▓██ ░▒▄█▀▀░ ░ ░ ░▀▀██▓▄▄▒ ░▒ ░▄▄▄▄▄█▓█▄▄▄░░ ░░ ██▓▓▓▀ ▄█▓▓█▌ █▓▓▓▓▀▀ ▀▓▓██▄▓▀ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░▒▀█▓█▓▄▄▄██▓▓█▓▀▀░ ░▀▀▀███▄▄▒░██▓▓▀ ▀▀▓▓▓▓█ █▓▓▌▄▓▓█▄ ▀███▒ ░ ░░ ░░ ░░░ ░░░▒░▒█▓▓████▓▓▀▒░░ ░ ░░ ░▀▀█████▀ ▄█▓█▄▐▓▓█ ▐▓▓▌▓██▓▓ ▄▓▀██▄▒░ ░░░░░░░░░▒▒▄▄█▓███▀█▓▓█░░░░ ░░ ░░░ ░░▄██▓▄ ▓██▓▓▐▓▓▌ █▓▌▀██▓▀ ▓▀ ▀▓█▄▒▒▒░░░▒▒▄▄█▓██▀▀▀ ▀██▓▄░▒▒ ░░ ░░▒░░▒▄▓▀ ▀▓ ▀▓██▀▐▓█ ▀▀ ▄▄▀ ▀▀█▓███▓████▀ ▀▀█▓█▄▄▒▒▒░▒▄▄▄▀▀ ▀▄▄ ▀▀ ▀▀ ▀█▓▌ ▀█▓█▀▀▀▀▀ ▀▀ ▐█ GROUP GREETINGS █▌ █▄ ▄▓ ▀▓████████▓▓███▓████▀ The Scene! ▐ ▐ ▌ ▌ ▄▓▌ ▐▓ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ▓▌ ▓▄ █▓█ ▐▓█▌ ░ ░ ░ ░▄▄▄ ░ ░░ ░░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ▐█▓▌ █▓█ ██▓▌ ▓▓▓█▄▄ ░░ ░▄▄▓█▀▀▀▀▀██▄▄░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░░ ░ ░ ▄▄█▓▓▓ ▐▓██ ▐█▓▓█▄ ▀▓▓▓██ ░▒▄█▀▀░ ░ ░ ░▀▀██▓▄▄▒ ░▒ ░▄▄▄▄▄█▓█▄▄▄░░ ░░ ██▓▓▓▀ ▄█▓▓█▌ █▓▓▓▓▀▀ ▀▓▓██▄▓▀ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░ ░▒▀█▓█▓▄▄▄██▓▓█▓▀▀░ ░▀▀▀███▄▄▒░██▓▓▀ ▀▀▓▓▓▓█ █▓▓▌▄▓▓█▄ ▀███▒ ░ ░░ ░░ ░░░ ░░░▒░▒█▓▓████▓▓▀▒░░ ░ ░░ ░▀▀█████▀ ▄█▓█▄▐▓▓█ ▐▓▓▌▓██▓▓ ▄▓▀██▄▒░ ░░░░░░░░░▒▒▄▄█▓███▀█▓▓█░░░░ ░░ ░░░ ░░▄██▓▄ ▓██▓▓▐▓▓▌ █▓▌▀██▓▀ ▓▀ ▀▓█▄▒▒▒░░░▒▒▄▄█▓██▀▀▀ ▀██▓▄░▒▒ ░░ ░░▒░░▒▄▓▀ ▀▓ ▀▓██▀▐▓█ ▀▀ ▄▄▀ ▀███▓▓▓█▓███▀▀ ▀▀█▓█▄▄▒▒▒░▒▄▄▄▓▀ ▀▄▄ ▀▀ ▀▀ ▀█▓██▀▀ ▀▀▀▓█▓▓█▓▀ ▀▀ ██ ▀█▓▀ ▐▓ GROUP iNFORMATION AND NEWS █▌ █▄ ▄█ ▀██████▓█████▓███████▓████████▓▀ aAF was created in Jan 2001 to fill a void left in the scene by groups who would refuse to release anything but current year music.paved the way for many groups to follow our lead and opened up the music scene for all music lovers while took a ton of abuse in the process.3 years later 13000 albums we proved our point! ♦ check out our tv/svcd/dvdr/divx divisions new for 2004 ♦ It's not the Year that Matters it's the Music ♦ aAF Forever What We're looking for : ♦ ppl who can get promos or pre street rls ♦ ppl who have large cd collections ♦ ppl with skill and experience who feel they can help us ♦ ppl who can supply legal shells or bnc's ♦ ppl who can supply hardware ♦ siteop's who host 100mbit+ 500 gig+ mixed sites for affils ♦ internal sites 10mbit+ 20gigs ♦ Siteop's invite the force to pre 2k4 on your site ♦ Come to the force with us ░ ░▌ ░▐ ░ ░ ░░ ░ ░▌ ░ ▐ ░ ░░ ▐ █ ▌ █ ░ ▄████▓███▓███▄ [NEW YEAR, SAME FORCE] ▄██▓█░ ▄███▄ ▄▓▄ ██▓█████████▓█ ██▓██ █▓█▓█ ▀ ░░ ██▓█▀░ ▀█▓▓██▓ ▄████▓████▄ ▄█▓███▓██▄ █▓███ ░░░░░░░░ ▄ ░ ████ ▄▓▄▓█████ ▓▓█████▓███ ▓███▓██▓██ █▓░░░░░░█▒▒▒▒░░ ▀▓▀ ▄████ ▀ ███▓██ ███ ▓██▓██ ███ ░████▓░░░░░░▄▒▒▒▒▒▒▒█░░ ░░ ▐ ██▓█ ░ ▓████▓ ███ ░▓████▓ █▓█ █▓░░░░░█▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒█░░░░ ░░ ░ ████ ▄██▓▓██ ███ ░███▓██ █▓█░░░░░█▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▀░░░░░█ ░ ░███▀ ▄███████▀ ▓██░ █▓██▓█░░░░░█▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒█░░░░░▓██▓█▀▌ ▐ ▄███▓▓██▀ ▓██ ██░░░░░█▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒█░░░░░█ ░██▓██ ▄███▓███▀▄▄▄ ███░░░░░█▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒█░░░░░█▓███░ ▄█████ ░ ███▓███▀ ▓██▓█░░░░░▄▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒█░░░░██▓█ ██▓█████▓▓████▄ ▄█████▀ ██▓█░░░█▒▒▒▒▒▒▒▒█░░░░░ ▓████ ████▓▓█████▓█▓█▀▌░ ░▐ ██▓██ ▀▀▄▄▓▒▒▒▒▒▒▒█░░░░░ ███ ▓██▓█ ▀▓█████▓██▓███▓░ ░ ░░ █▓██▀ ▄▄█████▒▒▒█░░░░░▓███ █▓█ ██▓█▓ ░█ ▐ ▀█████▀▐ ▄ ▀▄▄████████▀▀░░░░ ██▓███ ███░ █████ ▌ ▓████ ▀▓▀ ▄████████▀▀▄▄██ █▓█ ██████ ▓█▓ ░▓█▓██ ▄ ░██▓██░ ░░ █████▀▀ ███▓██ ███ █▓█▓██ ██▓ ░██▓█▓ ▀▓▀░██▓██ ░ ▄▓▄ ▀▀▄▄█▄ ▄█▓███▓ ▀██▓██▓███▀ ▀▓████▓██▀ ░ █████ ░ ▀ ███▓██▓██▓▓███ ░░ █▓██▓ ░ ░░ ▀██████▓████▓▀ [STILL GOiNG STRONG] ▀███▀ ░ █ ▐ █ ▐ ░▐ -MAY THE FORCE BE WiTH YOU ▐░
