RELEASE NOTES ..:: ] ............................ In May 2014, GMJ announced himself to Particles with the immaculate Edge of Remembrance EP. A debut of promise and talent provided a mature three-track offering that now receives remix treatments courtesy of Belarusian and Dutch talent. Split in two by an black gold pipeline running through its centre, Mazyr resident, Michael A, has developed quite a name for himself over the course of 2014. A catalogue of releases including original and remix material has hit the virtual shelves with impressive regularity, signed to a surfeit of fine imprints. The ever-reliable Balkan Connection has accounted for a quarter-of-a-century of these credits with original tracks such as Intelligences and Scatter seeing remixes from such high-profile stars, Exoplanet and Namatjira. A clutch of other work for Stripped Digital, Stellar Fountain and regular appearances on the Visceral compilation series have added to a notable year. Michael A's work for Particles is no less impressive. Peppered with regular appearances in the label's quarterly compilation series, March 2014's Behind the Moon EP showcased the Belarusian's talent, followed by a set of remixes incorporating the talents of Dustin Nantais, Marius Ene and GMJ himself. Now returning the favour, the Michael A remix of Nothing is Lost pays tribute to the bass line dominance of GMJ's original while simultaneously adding multiple layers of melodic counterpoint and breathy pads. A delicious percussive groove and strong beat add further to create a homogeneous work of polish and refinement. Dutch maestro, Stephen J. Kroos, needs no introduction to the musically aware. A product of a country that has continued to develop an arsenal of high profile artists and DJs, the Amsterdam resident has a long history of success in a constantly challenging industry. With inspiration provided by legends of the electronic music scene, Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode laid the foundation for the Kroos production technique to mature into a highly sought after sound. Recognised most prominently by Spring Tube, over a century of Beatport production credits adorn the Dutchman's portfolio including two full-length albums in 2014 alone, capturing the very essence of Stephen J. Kroos' hallucinating brain'. A further half-century of credits for the Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep labels represent success at the highest echelons of modern music and a continued prowess within the scene. A regular with Particles, the 2012 twin-track Fragile EP went on to receive stellar remixes from Peter Martin and Lateral Cut Groove while 2014 continued to show deserved success through the Kraton EP. Now interpreting the work of GMJ, Stephen J. Kroos has captured the effortless groove of The Formless Real turning the track into a highly impressive piece, redolent in trademark freeform melodic phrases, intricate touches and driving rhythmic force. As innovative as he is talented, Kroos' work once again sets the bar high. Two new remixes from Michael A and Stephen J.
