Both are the albums in which Yacoub attempted to hit the market without losing the dignity of his celtic heritage. But it is not a pop album or the usual collection of mainstream ballads. Yacoub's songwriting skills are way beyond any commercialism. His sensiblity shows him once more as one of the most important artists in the french scene. He's not a rock star like Catherine Lara and not a heir of the chanson movement as probably Charlelie Couture is. Instead he has gone deeper into folkloric roots. But at the same time he hasn't denied the advantages of technolgy. In "Quatre" and "Elementary Level of Faith" he used the synths and electronic devices wisely to add atmospheres. Here he achieved aboslute maturity mixing both worlds. Unfortunately Yacoub hasn't got the recognizition he deserves outside France. The american editions didn't sell well due to lack of promotion.
