Techno is music that precedes movement. It is fundamental dance music, and whilst it is solid enough to carry emotions through the dance floor, it is also importantly abstract enough to be a template for further creative explorations. Glenn Morrison & Petar Dundov's breathtaking composition and production catalogue embody this ethos, serving the inherent function of making your body pulse spontaneously while also challenging your brain with its complex melodies and slow-burning, hypnotic progressions. Although perhaps the word 'techno' is a tad opaque, and doesn't give enough detail about the stylistic headspace, it's probably best suited for those who have an affinity for melodic based hypnotic rave records - emotion encapsulated into minimalism - spacious sounds that take up a lot of space whilst at the core being simplistic enough to grab you in. Nothing overly cluttered or brash, just an attention to detail that makes this release so wonderful, and such a bold statement to start the year off.
