█▀░░ PsyCZ group was formed in spring 2001 by its first three members ... ░░▀█
█▀░ But as every group grows and gets new members, new people joined PsyCZ ░▀█
█▀░ to help us in our mission. Our main common loved genere was psychedelic ░▀█
█▀░ ... of course, but everone of us likes several more genres. This caused, ░▀█
█▀░ that several members began to demand releasing other music styles such ░▀█
█▀░ as ambient, drum&bass and few more ... So we realized, that our original ░▀█
█▀░ name PsyCZ is a little uncomfortable, because it highlights our psy - ░▀█
█▀░ sight. After few days of debates we decided to found new sub-group ... ░▀█
█▀░ and here we are ... PsyCZ_NP will bring you plenty of non psychedelic ░▀█
█▀░ music ... especially ambient, but some other genres are planned too. ░▀█
█▀░ Why did we decide for non-psy? Changing of the group name isn't possible ░▀█
█▀░ so possibilities we had was only adding a suffix to current group name ░▀█
█▀░░ ... so have chosen non-psy, because it's clearest and most fluent ... ░░▀█

█▀║ Hariprasad Chaurasia ║▀█
█▀║ ║▀█
█▀║ With the great wealth of musical dynasties in the Indian classical ║▀█
█▀║ tradition, one might expect to find a great line of musicians in the ║▀█
█▀║ genealogy of Hariprasad Chaurasia, the virtuoso of the bansuri (bamboo ║▀█
█▀║ flute.) However, instead of being a musician, his father was a famous ║▀█
█▀║ wrestler and had early hopes that his son might continue in his ║▀█
█▀║ footsteps. The younger Chaurasia had an early love of music, however, ║▀█
█▀║ and by the age of 15 was taking his first steps toward a lifetime as a ║▀█
█▀║ performer by studying classical voice with Pandit Raja Ram of Benares. ║▀█
█▀║ Soon after, he heard a flute recital by Pandit Bholanath and was so ║▀█
█▀║ impressed he changed his focus to studying the flute. When he was just ║▀█
█▀║ 19, he got a job playing for All India Radio, Cuttack, Orissa, and ║▀█
█▀║ within five years he was transferred to their headquarters in Bombay. ║▀█
█▀║ There he got the additional exposure of performing in one of India's ║▀█
█▀║ cultural centers and also studied with Shrimati Annapurna Devi, ║▀█
█▀║ daughter of Ustaad Allauddin Khan of the Maihar School of Music. She ║▀█
█▀║ helped him achieve the creative apex of his career, developing a style ║▀█
█▀║ that was both respectful of tradition, yet full of innovation. Over a ║▀█
█▀║ lifetime of performances, Chaurasia became one of India's ║▀█
█▀║ most-respected classical musicians, earning several awards, including ║▀█
█▀║ the National Award of the Sangeet Natak Academy, which he won in 1984. ║▀█
█▀║ In 1992, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan and the Konarak Samman and ║▀█
█▀║ in 1994, he was bestowed the Yash Bharati Sanman. Chaurasia also ║▀█
█▀║ collaborated with several western musicians late in his career, ║▀█
█▀║ including John McLaughlin and Jan Gabarek, as well as composing music ║▀█
█▀║ for a number of Indian films. ║▀█

█▀║ Rakesh Chaurasia ║▀█
█▀║ ║▀█
█▀║ A well-known name is connected to the young Rakesh Chaurasia, nephew ║▀█
█▀║ and prodigy of Hariprasad Chaurasia, the master of the flute. He is a ║▀█
█▀║ leading disciple of his guru and denotes all promising signs to ║▀█
█▀║ continue the art of his teacher. Like his uncle, Rakesh shows the ║▀█
█▀║ right balance between artistic power and dignity in his play, an ║▀█
█▀║ important talent for a flute player. His virtuoso blowing technique, ║▀█
█▀║ combined with his illustrious svaras and talas allow him to let flow ║▀█
█▀║ his emotions through his flute. All over the world Rakesh has given ║▀█
█▀║ enthusiastic concerts, both in classical and semi-classic music. He is ║▀█
█▀║ a well-known player, too, in the Indian film industry. ║▀█
█▀║ ║▀█
█▀║ Zakir Hussain ║▀█
█▀║ ║▀█
█▀║ The tradition of Indian percussion has been revolutionalized by tabla ║▀█
█▀║ player Zakir Hussain. The son of Ustad Allah Rakha, the long time ║▀█
█▀║ collaborator of Ravi Shankar, Hussain has inherited his father's quest ║▀█
█▀║ for bringing the music of India to the international stage. His ║▀█
█▀║ recording credits include albums with George Harrison, Joe Henderson, ║▀█
█▀║ Van Morrison, Jack Bruce, Tito Puente, Pharoah Saunders, Billy Cobham, ║▀█
█▀║ the Hong Kong Symphony and the New Orleans Symphony. His work with ║▀█
█▀║ Mickey Hart of The Grateful Dead have included performances and albums ║▀█
█▀║ with the Diga Rhythm Band and Planet Drum. Hussain joined with British ║▀█
█▀║ guitarist John McLaughlin and Indian violinist L. Shankar to form the ║▀█
█▀║ east-meets-west supergroup, Shakti, in 1975. Although the group ║▀█
█▀║ disbanded in 1978, they reunited to tour as Remember Shakti in 1998. ║▀█
█▀║ Hussain has been equally successful as a bandleader. During the 1980s, ║▀█
█▀║ he toured with Zakir Hussain's Rhythm Experience. His debut solo ║▀█
█▀║ album, Making Music, released in 1987, was called "one of the most ║▀█
█▀║ inspired East-West fusion albums ever recorded". In 1992, Hussain ║▀█
█▀║ launched a record label, Monument Records, that focused on Indian ║▀█
█▀║ music. A lengthy list of awards have been bestowed upon Hussain ║▀█
█▀║ throughout his career. In 1988, he became the youngest percussionist ║▀█
█▀║ to be awarded the title "Padma Shri" by the Indian government. Two ║▀█
█▀║ years later, he recieved the Indo-Ameican award in tribute to his ║▀█
█▀║ contributions to furthering relations between the United States and ║▀█
█▀║ India. Planet Drum, an album co-produced with Hart in 1992, received a ║▀█
█▀║ Grammy for "best world music album", a NARM Indie Best Seller award ║▀█
█▀║ and won the Downbeat Critics Poll for "Best world music album". Still ║▀█
█▀║ a youngster when he began to attract attention with his virtuosic ║▀█
█▀║ playing, Hussain began his musical career at the age of seven and was ║▀█
█▀║ touring by the age of twelve. In 1970, he made his American debut as ║▀█
█▀║ accompanist for Ravi Shankar. Three years later, he became the leader ║▀█
█▀║ of the Tal Vadya Rhythm Band. The group subsequently evolved into the ║▀█
█▀║ Diga Rhythm Band. In 1976, the band collaborated on a self-titled ║▀█
█▀║ album with Mickey Hart. Hussain has performed on the soundtracks of ║▀█
█▀║ numerous films including Apocalypse Now!, In Custody and Little ║▀█
█▀║ Buddha. At the 1983 Cannes Film Festival, he was nominated for an ║▀█
█▀║ award as composer and music director of the film, Heat And Dust. ║▀█
