He posseses a unique sensibility for certain periods of western music, notably the beginings of Rennaissance, although he has extended his repertoire to the XVIIth century. Probably his most famous work is the Soundtrack for Tous les Matins du Monde, but not less brilliant is the Compilations Called Cancioneros (Collections of Songs) There's a side of Savall and Hesperion XX that it is still to be fully appreciated. His works on the music played in the palaces and courts of Spain at the begining of XVth Centry. Cancionero de la Colombina is a collection of exquisite tunes. Some were the same songs that Elizabeth the Catholic used to listen in court. Some are the songs heard from Trovadours, Minstrels and even Harlequins anywhere else in the Kingdom of Castilla. This is the music that Christopher Colombus heard when he went there to tell his crazy stories about a round world to the Spanish Crown.
