It was a seven-year wait between records, their debut 'Your Everything' was released back in 2003, four years after the band formed. Comparisons to early 90s bands like Ride are unmistakable. Highspire also covered Slowdive's 'Dagger', so they're not shy about revealing their influences. Rightly so, there are a number of standouts on 'Aquatic', 'Dusted' is just one of them." Wanting a fresh start and name from their previous band Intro to India, Alex White and EJ Hagen founded Highspire in 1999 as the vehicle to continue their songwriting partnership. Their debut album "Your Everything" was released in 2003 (Europe only, Alison Records) and 2004 (rest of world, Clairecords). "Your Everything" with its shoegaze, britpop and trip hop influences was very well received and garnered many reviews comparing elements of their sound to Ride, The Charlatans, Slowdive, Bowery Electric, and Massive Attack. Since 2004, they have released a few songs on various compilations. Highspire's second album, "Aquatic," was released in April 2010 on their own label ReverseReverb.
