This is a new EP from Hiperson of Chengdu,
China-released digitally on Nov 15 with a one-sided 12"
Vinyl on pre-order.
Hiperson is a five-piece rock band from Chengdu, China,
formed in 2012. They have released two full albums, No
Need for Another History (2015), She Came Back from the
Square (2018) on Maybe Mars one EP 'Four Seasons' coming
out on Damnably in 2019. They toured 28 cities in China
and 16 European cities (2016).
Expect a sense of the poetic narrative of contemporary
literature mixed with the musical structure of hard-core
punk and melodies of Chinese folk music.
Unlike previous generations of Chinese musicians, these
twenty-somethings reject the shackles of recent history,
harkening back to the essential, sensitive, poetic
golden age of rock 'n' roll.
Their temperament of refreshing simplicity has led
Hiperson on a path of rapid achievement. Frontwoman Chen
Sijiang's unique voice, brilliant and gorgeous as it is,
does not draw the audience's full attention away from
Hipersoní»s compelling bass-lines or the complex,
precise rhythmic interplay between drums and guitar.
