LA, California based DJ and producer Ian Nash debuts on Bonzai Progressive, delivering a trio of solid progressive house grooves with The New Black. Born in 1993, Ian was first exposed to electronic music at the age of seventeen when he went to Ultra Music Festival in Miami. He was immediately hooked, and went on to DJ at his college radio station, winning the west-coast division of Tiesto's College Invasion Tour DJ Competition in 2013. After college, he began producing trance music under the name Cloudchaser, releasing his first EP Across the Sky, on Above All Records in 2018. A trip that same year to Dirtybird Campout turned him into a raving fan of house music. Under the name Ian Nash, he combines his love for house with melodic elements, taking listeners on unprecedented journeys through groove, both at home and in the club. We're delighted to have him on board. The New Black boasts a strong, probing bassline that straddles a wave of rhythmic percussions and cosmic FX. Tight beats drive the groove as various synths create a rich tapestry of sound. The intro eases us into the vibe, teasing with a static synth alongside a cool bass. As the main bass takes hold, melodic synths emerge, complete with a full-on alarm style retro stab that will definitely grab a lot of attention. Top-notch stuff that is not to be missed. Different Color Eyes is a beautifully crafted slice that will subject you to an onslaught of frequencies that cohere effortlessly, creating maximum impact on the floor. Strong, punchy kicks lead the way alongside bright hi hats and rhythmic percussions, while a dancey bassline gets the toes tapping. Undulating synths raid the senses, pitching perfectly to create the desired effect of getting hands in the air. An excellent slice that is a must have, no doubt. Kiwi is a much darker affair than its predecessors with its tougher, analogue style approach to the sounds. A driving beat takes us on the journey as deep basses rattle the low end along with expertly crafted bending synths and an array of quality FX. The track locks us in with a narrative that you just do not want to end. It's captivating and alluring, guiding us deeper while allowing the body to move to the groove.
