Branded as an instrument of the Devil, it was driven out of ôpoliteö company by religious leaders who feared its powerful sound and ability to make listeners dance û also a big no-no in the world of pre-Reformation Christianity. Considering its outlaw background, itÆs no wonder that the fiddle hasnÆt been accepted by rock musicians with more enthusiasm. The Intima gives the instrument the attention it deserves, however, as the band puts the wailing strings at the center of its sound on Peril and Panic.
