Launched in September 2012 and supported by the likes of Cid Inc, John Digweed and Eelke Kleijn, Berliner, Ioan Gamboa has enjoyed considerable success with his Fire and Ice EP. Consequently, it was no surprise that each of the three tracks should flourish as full releases in their own rights combined with twin remixes from some of the Particles roster's finest exponents. The first of these saw The Garden of Bones provide an oasis of colour from Ad Brown and Andrew Benson and newcomer Kacper Kostecki. Now, the effervescent melodies and dance floor rhythms of Goamboa's Khaleesi are paired with remixes from South America and Russia. Plying his musical trade from the Argentinean capital, Martin Etchegaray's talent was spotted in his early twenties as he rose to become one of the top 5 performers in a competition run by the Argentinean Association of DJs. Following up his talent on the decks, Etchegaray's production skills soon bore fruit on such imprints as Replug, Balkan Connection and Liquid Grooves. A haunting remix of Andrew Benson's Underwater announced Etchegaray's debut for Particles while the hypnotic grooves of Sons of the Plastic Era found its way on to the Winter Particles 2013 compilation marking a first full solo production. Turning his attention to Khaleesi, Etchegaray provides a pounding beat and house rhythm on which to lay a meandering collage of arpeggios that weave in and out of the rhythmic bed in infinitely delayed glory, providing a subtle, haunting resonance with Gamboa's original. A deep pulsating bass line creates a further dynamism to a track that is full of late-night dance floor ingenuity. Gregory Sahakyan's rise to prominence in the progressive house scene in 2013 has been exceptional. Under his Progreg production guise, the Russian from the Moscow capital has earned a reputation for a technique based upon a compelling blend of progressive sound and melodic techno. Causing a stir within the industry for his impressive Underworld EP for the Tvardovsky run Stereo Paradise imprint and recent Mirage as part of Denis A's DAR Digital Showcase 001, Progreg's Particles career began with the mellifluous Deep Harmony for the 2012 Fall Particles compilation and followed by the punchy, pensive vibrancy of the very recent remix of David Granha's I Need a Toydoll. Working his unique blend of production magic on Khaleesi, a bouncing bass groove and fizzing percussion form the rhythmic basis for a an sparkling blend of arpeggios and stabs to reach a crescendo before the melodies diverge in an altogether different direction in the latter half while still maintaining the driving, dance floor energy of the first movement in all its innovative glory. From a storm borne of Ioan Gamboa's fertile imagination, Martin Etchegaray and Progreg have ensured Khaleesi's influence is in no way diminished.
