It was a mighty feeling to enter the room where Martin Luther translated the New Testament from Latin to German. The translation gave citizens the opportunity to have their own relationship with God and to reflect on the written word, which was not possible before. This album is a musical interpretation of the historical person Luther at a time when everything was changing. Martin Luther chose the monastic life because of a thunderstorm. He promised to give his life to God if he was saved. In 1507, Martin Luther was primed and 1508 he began teaching theology at Wittenberg University. He later ended up in a serious confrontation with the Catholic church. He despised the way the church ruled the people with greed and corruption, and held them in fear of hellfire. Luther believed that people should be able to have their own relationship with God, and the right to feel safe and loved. My musical interpretation is not made to offend or hurt anyone. The project is an interpretation of what is historically documented. I have for example visited the Vatican City and Wartburg. It has inspired me.
