It was ║ │ │║ called Total Control and it was realized thank ║ │ │║ to great musicians: John Norum on the guitar, ║ │ │║ Marcel Jacob on the bass, Goran Edman (after ║ │ │║ that experience Goran became one of the Yngwie ║ │ │║ Malmsteen singers) on vocals. The album was ║ │ │║ really well promoted only in Sweden (with some ║ │ │║ video and singles) and in Japan, but i (in ║ │ │║ Italy) was able to get a copy after some weeks ║ │ │║ from the date it was released, thanks to the ║ │ │║ good distribution (Sony/CBS). John was in tour ║ │ │║ in sweden and in Japan only and an EP was taken ║ │ │║ from that experience, called "Live in ║ │ │║ Stockholm". In the meantime, in USA, Don Dokken, ║ │ │║ member of the band Dokken, decided to call John ║ │ │║ Norum to play on his first solo album, "Up from ║ │ │║ the ashes".It was a success all around the ║ │ │║ world. Great stuff, great musicians, great ║ │ │║ voice...great all! ║ │ │║ ║ │ │║ I was very impressed by this album and i listen ║ │ │║ to it continuosly. This is one of my favourite ║ │ │║ albums. John returned to Sweden and recorded in ║ │ │║ 1992 his second solo album with Glenn Hughes, ║ │ │║ ex-Deep Purple. Face the truth is one of the ║ │ │║ best John's album ever, enjoing the ║ │ │║ collaboration by some important musicians, as ║ │ │║ Peter Baltes from Accept and Glenn Hughes, as ║ │ │║ stated above. In 1995 John was married with ║ │ │║ Michelle Meldrum and his 3rd album was released: ║ │ │║ Another Destination. John was on tour again, in ║ │ │║ Sweden, after some years passed - probably - in ║ │ │║ United States, California. The singer was Kelly ║ │ │║ Keeling. John in this album tried to follow some ║ │ │║ new musical experiments. For a few of months ║ │ │║ john is supposed - by rumors - to join Michael ║ │ │║ Shenker's UFO. In the meantime he attended a lot ║ │ │║ of projects, including a tribute album to Ace ║ │ │║ Frehley (Kiss guitar player) and Guitar Zeus ║ │ │║ VolII. by Carmine Appice. In 1996 his next solo ║ │ │║ album, Worlds Away, was released in Sweden and ║ │ │║ after some months, the album was distributed in ║ │ │║ the rest of Europe. A new tour was planned in ║ │ │║ 1999, first in Sweden and Japan and after, ║ │ │║ thanks to Europe Fan Clubs, John was in Italy (i ║ │ │║ had the chance to see him!!) and Belgium for a ║ │ │║ mini-tour. From 2000 to 2001 John recorded is ║ │ │║ new album (5th) , published in Japan by ║ │ │║ Toshiba-EMI on December. During that times, the ║ │ │║ album was supposed to be called Level Six but it ║ │ │║ was released as Slipped Into Tomorrow. After ║ │ │║ touring in Sweden for a while, partecipating to ║ │ │║ Swedish Rock Festival, playing with Brian ║ │ │║ Robertson (ex.Thin Lizzy), reuniting for a day ║ │ │║ only with Europe on the 2000's New Eve, John ║ │ │║ left Stockholm at the end of 2001 to join again ║ │ │║ Don Dokken, for the a new Dokken's project, ║ │ │║ involving Barry White, ex Malmsteen. The album ║ │ │║ was released in April 2001 and, at the beginning ║ │ │║ of 2002, John started to tour USA with Dokken ║ │ │║ promoting the new album (Long way home); the ║ │ │║ tour was followed by a European tour taking ║ │ │║ place in the spring 2002. In July 2002, John ║ │ │║ left the group before a gig in France, probably ║ │ │║ due to the long tour with Dokken. After the ║ │ │║ "Dokken experience" John started to work on his ║ │ │║ new solo album and on a couple of external ║ │ │║ projects, one involving Kee Marcello, ex-Europe, ║ │ │║ and suppesod to be a tribute album for ║ │ │║ 2001-09-11 victims. In March 2003, John has been ║ │ │║ called by PeteWay to join UFO, replacing Michael ║ │ │║ Shenker, but this rumour never became reality. ║ │ │║ In 2005 John released his new album called ║ │ │║ Optimus, with a totally new sound and style. ║ │ │║ This album got a very good feedback not only by ║ │ │║ his old and new fans, but also from the critics, ║ │ │║ expecially for the solos, as Solitude and the ║ │ │║ title track Optimus. Actually, john is planning ║ │ │║ the next solo album.
