In '89, ░█░ ░█░ after hearing "Sue±o Latino" by Manuel Gottsching (of ░█░ ░█░ Ash Ra Tempel), Hulkonnen decided to set up his own ░█░ ░█░ studio (it's amazing how many people cite that record ░█░ ░█░ as a prime motivating force to start producing). Four ░█░ ░█░ years later he formed his own imprint, Lumi, with Ari ░█░ ░█░ Ruokamo and Jukka Hautamdki. After a bunch of ░█░ ░█░ successful releases, Hulkonnen began releasing on ░█░ ░█░ other European labels, initially Hybrid and ░█░ ░█░ Trainspotter's Nightmare, both owned by Stockholm ░█░ ░█░ techno sensation Cari Lekebusch. A year later, he ░█░ ░█░ cemented his position as a leading European producer ░█░ ░█░ of Detroit-style house with his debut album for F ░█░ ░█░ Communications, Selkasaari Tracks. ░█░ ░█░ ░█░ ░█░ In addition to playing numerous live gigs and DJ ░█░ ░█░ spots, Hulkonnen has produced warming tech-funk for ░█░ ░█░ labels such as Djupt, EC Records, Keys Of Life, Pan, ░█░ ░█░ Placktown Sounds, and Brique Rouge. He has also been ░█░ ░█░ known to record as Zyntherius (with Turbo's Tiga), ░█░ ░█░ Jii Hoo, and Eternal Boyman. In '97, Hulkonnen ░█░ ░█░ produced a pair of albums, the delightfully deep Love ░█░ ░█░ You Forever (produced as Bobby Forester for ░█░ ░█░ Plumphouse) and the tougher Finland: 0 points (for ░█░ ░█░ Trainspotter's Nightmare). A year later, Hulkonnen ░█░ ░█░ produced his second album for F Communications, The ░█░ ░█░ Spirits Inside Me, which paved the way for (probably) ░█░ ░█░ his most celebrated album to date, '00's When No One ░█░ ░█░ Is Watching, We Are Invisible. Now living in ░█░ ░█░ Helsinki, Hulkonnen maintains a residency at Kerma ░█░ ░█░ and two national radio shows.
