Born and raised in the Argentinean capital, Buenos Aries resident, Juan Deminicis, has been crafting his own unique style of progressive house since 2005. After a three-year maturation period, works were subsequently signed to labels such as Jetlag, Balkan Connection and licensed to the heavyweight Armada. With influences ranging from John Digweed and Sasha to New Order and Radiohead, it quickly became apparent that Juan's music was constructed with considerable skill and production technique. Replug head and master craftsmen, Cid Inc, quickly spotted this portfolio of skills when Deminicis won a high profile remix competition for the track, Filaments. This, in turn, became the platform for even greater success with his tracks burning ever brighter. Since then, Juan Deminicis hasn't looked back. Prolific in his output both individually and with fellow Argentinean, Pablo Acenso, over 150 track credits sit proudly next to his name alongside such luminary imprints as Stripped, Vapour, and Eelke Kleijn's, Outside The Box. Furthermore, Juan first announced himself on Particles with his aptly name Outstanding for the 2012 Winter compilation. Contemporaneously, his track Downshifting appeared alongside Ad Brown and Nick Stoynoff's Nebulas as part of the VS series for Proton Music. In continued recognition of the Argentinean's talent Proton is extremely proud to release the next chapter in the Juan Deminicis tale with the release of his Behind The Sun EP. The title track itself is a sublime progressive number brimming with deep bass and awash with floating pads across the stereo spectrum. A gradual build of melodic elements and a hypnotic, distant vocal cut over a body-shaking groove, only serve to heighten expectation before the track builds in intensity to unleash layer upon layer of rhythm, melody and dance-floor vibrancy. This is modern progressive house in every sense of the term. Already receiving heavyweight support by Hernan Cattaneo Past provides a wonderful juxtaposition to its track partner. A huge analogue warmed beat, kick-starts proceedings, before complex percussive layers and a modulated bass groove lock the rhythm in place. Sustained pads and a sprightly melody in the upper frequency register seal the track as a progressive 'groover' of the highest order.
