KAECK was formed in 2014. Members from older Dutch Black Metal bands got
together to
create dark underground Black Metal. Tapping into the genre's early days, KAECK
delivers
menacing riffs, haunting keys and agonizing ritualistic vocals. The first album
'Stormkult' was
released by Folter Records in 2015. It received great reviews in the
underground, and led to a
killer gig at Under The Black Sun fest in 2016.
The 2nd album 'Het Zwarte Dictaat' was written during the winter of 2020 by
Kruitwagen.
Oovenmeesters lyrics were a huge inspiration for the endless barage of dark
riffs. During the
recordings, the line-up changed and Kruitwagen also took up the keys like he did
in the early
90s. Joining KAECK on bass and drums is R. Nillesen. Nillesens bass is overall
present in the
sound and is guided by raw, old school drums. Additional percussion was recorded
using
actual human bones. Oovenmeester perfected his raw vocal style. The lyrics
invoke the occult
and explore the dark corners of the mind and soul. The subjects elaborate on
rituals and black
magic, bending towards consulting an ancient and evil deity. Kaeck sounds
stronger and
darker in 2021. The grand mix by Marco Hartgens and finally the mastering
perfection of Peter
Neuber gives KAECK the sound of a giant wall of utter dark Black Metal.
