We welcome Kamosoul back to Piston with a top-notch three tracker titled Closer To You EP. This one follows his 2020 debut Shine EP, which gained great support from across the board. His deep love and understanding for underground music, Kamosoul started to DJ in 2015 which led him into producing his own music and he has never looked back since. He is all about the quality of the work and not about the name making, this ethos can be heard and felt in the sounds he creates, deep, electronic with groovy elements with occasional rough, dirty edges. He draws inspiration from the likes of Atjazz, Knxwledge and Mick Jenkins, because he admires their consistency and work ethic. Great to have him back. Closer To You opens the EP with its minimalistic flavour evident right from the off. Deep and dubby, the groove is filled with dark chords, bright piano plucks and a captivating vocal. A plucky bassline adds depth as shuffling percussions and laidback kicks generate cool rhythms. It Ain't Real is up next, keeping that raw, slow burning groove alive thanks to smooth, rhythmic percussions and mesmerizing chords. Cool vocals scatter throughout adding intrigue to the narrative. An urban vibe oozes from the track which will no doubt translate well on the floors. Days In Rome concludes the EP, taking the experimental element that little bit further. A moody, mid-tempo mover spliced with striking keys, warm basses and trippy FX, the groove lures you into its grip.
