With the Genesis EP, the duo provided a landmark moment with a stunning debut EP for Proton Music. As we now return to the twin-track offering. Two high-profile remixes UK and US producers see Ida transformed. Barry Jamieson's name is writ large throughout the history of dance music. UK born but now operating from his New Jersey studio, the Grammy nominated US based producer is responsible for a plethora of projects that have shaped a generation. Responsible for mixing all of Sasha's music since 2003, Jamieson's work alongside Charlie May and Sasha himself over a number of years, saw tracks that included the era-defining Xpander alongside the genre-defining Involver albums. A studio engineer and technical visionary of global renown, regular appearances on film and TV including the ever-popular, CSI add further to a stellar reputation. A hugely-respected producer and engineer under his own name and soubriquets including the celebrated, Evolution, Jamieson's work for Kyubu, Golden Wings and microCastle has been a revelation with the latter accounting for a host of high-profile remixes of DNYO, Ricky Ryan and Cid Inc. Furthermore, Jamieson's own Circular Sound Recordings has been a successful vehicle for his music as the monthly Circular Sound show on Proton Radio showcases the very best in underground club sounds that fill airwaves and dance floors. Making his very welcome debut on Proton Music, the Barry Jamieson remix of Ida is a deliciously evolving piece that cleverly integrates elements of the original while supplying legion additional production, not least by a smooth, rich bass line that is the perfect counterpoint to Torrau and Donatello's bass. Textured pads and a 303-tinged lead reach their zenith at the breakdown before a brash, bold beat hypnotises once more in the third and fourth movements in a work that is yet another showcase for Jamieson's ever-expanding talents. A man very much a product of the modern dance industry, Darin Epsilon's rise to the upper echelons of the underground scene has been nothing short of meteoric. Hailing from Chicago but now firmly ensconced in the vibrant 'city of angels', Los Angeles based Epsilon has made a significant name for himself via his Perspectives empire. Both a hugely successful radio show with thousands of listeners and an important label with a multitude of followers and supporters, Darin Epsilon is a force to be reckoned with. Over 2 million Soundcloud plays are testament to this support as are regular DJ performances across his homeland and on a global stage alongside the likes of Cattaneo, Warren, Digweed and Sasha. Darin Epsilon's production career is no less impressive as a host of blue chip labels play host to his music including Sudbeat, Hope, Perfecto and Black Hole. Over a century of credits can also be found on his own Perspectives digital through an array of original and remix production material as Cid Inc., Petar Dundov and Quivver have all lined up to reinterpret his work.
