Derek Howell's contribution to the modern progressive house scene is unparalleled. As passionate and dedicated as he is talented and skilled, music has always formed a central tenet of The Texan's philosophy. An opening salvo of releases that saw Chris Fortier's Fade and John Digweed's Bedrock Records provide the vehicles for debut releases in 2004, Howell's portfolio reads like membership of an exclusive club few would dare dream to enter microCastle, Lost Language and Hope sit alongside Baires, Particles and Olaris Howell's work transcending genre boundaries, engaging listeners and providing commercial success with each new venture. A long-time friend of Proton Music, Derek Howell's association stretches back a decade. From 2005's debut as part of Lance Cashion's The Sound, to 2012's Laughing While Running and 2014's Interstellar Homecoming, Proton Music has been proud to showcase Howell's maturing talents on a regular basis. Remixing Kobana, Derek Howell's reworking of Fly is a showcase for the Lone Star statesman's continued verve. Jam-packed with enough groove to cause a San Francisco earthquake, Howell's clever use of original elements, allied to an immaculate set of new melodies and additional production, has provided the perfect recipe for one of the highlights of the Proton year thus far. A work that further shines with cumulative listens, Fly is a celebration of Howell's sound. Argentinean, Luis Bondio has carved out quite a name for himself with impressive business skills and unique production sound. Responsible for the Classound record label and booking agency, Bondio is also a part of the team that runs the highly regarded South American, Baires, imprint. Working with some of the finest modern imprints since 2010's debut on Kansak, Bondio's work has featured on Movement, microCastle and Visceral. Furthermore, a standout remix of Nick Warren's Buenos Aries for Hope and a collaboration with Silinder for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat have illustrated that Bondio is no stranger to heavyweight success. Two gold-standard remixes of Juan Deminicis in 2013 and Scotty.A in 2014, mark Luis Bondio's contribution to Proton Music thus far and it with great pleasure that we welcome back the Argentinean with another fine example of his production craftsmanship. Working his magic on Glow, the beautiful, luscious melodies of the original are treated to a host of new production material that include a striking house rhythm and metronomic percussive hi-hats. Changing the key of Kobana's melodic riff, original elements are cleverly teased out over the eight-minute piece in impressive style.
